Golo, yours came out wonderful and i love the butterfly idea for the quilting. So I'm thinking of quilting mine with dragonflies since I put one in the top left mushroom block or maybe butterflies if you wouldn't mined me using you idea.

FB I took pics of all my blocks to date and stuck them in the gallery RD album for you, if you need any close up or bigger versions just let me know, its no problem to do :-) Im going to do the cherry basket I think but not the tea pot, think I will do two silhouette ballroom dancers instead for that block, my parents met when they were teachers at Arthur Murray. Oh and a warning to all on the dangers of magic red mushrooms

they wasted a perfectly good cat!!!

lol! Thanks, GC. hug08

To everyone else... I'd asked Helen for pics of the blocks that she modified to help get me re-inspired on this BOM. Now that the shoutin's over on the Tisket BOM, I'm ready to tackle this one. I remember that there were a couple of blocks (including the mushroom one) that we had a lot of discussion about.

So that's why this out-of-the-blue addition to the thread. Heh. Maybe you'll actually see some more finished blocks someday soon(ish).

Tah-dah! Finally I finished Block #6 (at about 11:45 p.m. :hammer: )

cry2 The inking on the leaves wasn't as successful as I could have hoped - the leaves turned out to be an awful lotta dark. I'm less than thrilled with them, but not so upset I'm gonna do the whole block again!

Now I'll need to put on my thinking cap & work on the redesign for the swirly block and the woodland block. Completing these three (#6-7-8) counts as a finished step on my UFO Watchers list.

Of course, there are plenty of OTHER things that I want to do, too but so far I've resisted actually STARTING anything new.

As you know Im making mine as a 50th wedding anniversary gift for my parents, Im changing blocks I dont like and the layout, removed one block totally and not making a couple of others.

My parents met when they were ballroom dance instructors for Arthur Murray so I wanted a block to recall that. I found the current Arthur Murray dance studio logo, this is it below

This is my new layout and where I need to create 2 new blocks you can see my sketch for the dancer block

I have adapted it slightly to turn it into an applique suitable design, this is my block below, its not stitched on yet, just got it all drawn out, enlarged by hand then cut out last night

I will take it with me down to port arthur this weekend and work on it

What a wonderful change! The perfect choice I'd say?
clap
Just a thought though..the date you are adding..will you also add 50th anniversary? When I see a date like you showed..I think of it as the "lifespan'..either of the couple..or in this case the marriage..and you don't want anyone to think this is a memorial quilt for someone who has passed? Embarassed If I'm out in left field on this..please ignore? or..scold me and ignore? Embarassed
