Gimpy - Beautiful! A wonderful gift for your parents! Everything about it is lovely, and the dancers block makes it even more special. I thought the same thing AOL did about the dates, though. Right away it struck me as a "life span". I think their names and the date of their marriage would be nice. (There now. If you're going to scold us, Annie and I are in for it together)

Ok so who am I supposed to be shooting? Ann, Qbee, TxMary?? where did ya'll get to? LOL I have to find the sketch for it, my head is spinning but Im sure I put 50th wedding anniversary or something on it, I had a couple of options for that block, had one with their name and dates then under it in the middle two wedding rings and 50th etc. When I get sorted out I will take a look

Thanks for the input though, much appreciated from everyone, I love this forum and being able to ask advice, get feedback etc. Thanks for all the kind comments too, means a lot to have someone to show my stuff to, poor DH gets tired of looking Im sure LOL

If you're going to shoot, start with AOL! She started it! (I learned that phrase from my children - notice my grandchildren use it, too!)

About that "being able to ask advice" - how about when we give you advice, even if you didn't ask??

I love this forum, too! Advice, friendship, education, caring. . . everyone shares so much.

AOL they met when they were woriking as ballroom dance instructors at Arthur Murray in Melbourne (they loathed each other too LOL) So I found the current arthur murray logo and adapted it to applique. Wondering about embroidering Arthur Murray along the bottom of the dress hem?

What do you all think, should I embroider Arthur Murary under the dress folloqing the lines of the hem?

I think it would look nice..but it's fine on it's own without it? I really like that block. It was brilliant of you you come up with that idea. Thumbup

I found some wrapping paper wiht red roses all over it and a ribbon bow thingy in red velvet with a gold underside, figure that ties in with golden 50th anniversary and the red theme. Now to squash it into a keyboard box I have so it wraps neatly
