Thank you! lovehearts heh..soft and sweet..Tracy are you gonna ask me to borrow money? LOL
I wasn't sure if the buttons I chose were too dark with the other fabrics I chose..but the fabric I will use when I set it together is a floral and has that dark red..so I went with it. I had some lavender buttons and when I laid them on the block they looked too washed out.

Thank you Pookie. I did mine by hand so it would be portable. I stitched it with an 85lb. Lab on my lap. Thud

Here's my basket wallhanging for my aunt. (It really does have nice even borders on it - but it didn't quite fit on my scanner) Notice his nose - I made a little carrot button with shrinky dink plastic!

Annie I love your basket. Your colors are yummy!

Qbee, that little wall hanging turned out great. I like your background fabric too.

So you puched a hole prebake or post bake? did you do two holes like a button? Inquiring minds....details details! I did have one of those clear plastic food containers but it was a #2 so I'm still waiting.

Thank you, friends. Compliments always feel so good.

Chris - I used a 1/8" hole punch, and I punched two holes. I punched the holes what looked like a good distance apart if I were using it as was and not shrinking. I guessed that the proportions would be okay then after shrinking, and it worked out just fine. I don't know if you could drill after shrinking, but I do know the paper punch wouldn't work after shrinking.

I didn't have good luck with the #6 plastic container - it curled up on itself and stuck so I couldn't flatten it, even hot from the oven. When I used the "real" shrinky dink plastic, it curled while baking, but laid pretty flat again before I took it out of the oven - then I used a spatula and pushed down right away to make sure it was really flat.

It's making me laugh to think I'm somewhat of an "expert" now on something - shrinky dinks!!

QBee - I didn't do the baskets as I didn't want a big wallhanging of them all, but you have just inspired me to make single block hangings for gifts. Thanks for the idea! Yours is darling. :flower:

Hmmm. I don't know why it didn't click with me until Pookie said something... I could use your idea too, MaryAnn - then I'd have something for my Christmas Club. My mom is always changing her door decorations to tell her neighbors and the UPS man what season it is... I'll be she'd go nuts over this idea.

And anyway. She's my mom. It's truly scary how much of my artsy-fartsy stuff she has throughout her home. Embarassed

You know, this feels pretty good - - I'm really happy that I may have shared a good idea! When it comes to the forum, I'm much more of a taker than a giver.
