I think we need this post, as I have been looking all over for a tip one of you posted on how to prepare cabbage leaves in the microwave for cabbage rolls and can not find it. There are lots of neat tips to share I'm sure. lovehearts Norma

Good thread to have norma, I posted on how I do my cabbage leaves but not in the microwave (I freeze mine and the thawing process wilts the entire head, but this takes at least 3 days freezing and 1 thawing.


Here's my Tip of the day:

If a recipe calls for buttermilk and you don't have any (or like me don't use it enough to make it a reasonable cost) I add 2 Tablespoons of vinegar to a cup of milk, stir, it will thicken and give that similar twang and acidic results of buttermilk. I use this in making biscuits all the time.

And speaking of vinegar ....... I have been using it in my wash cycle in the washing machine. Getting my whites pretty clean!!!
