I wonder if a digital bathroom scale would work...
LEM - I probably will only have enough for 1 bag, but I won't have time to go through them until I have a day off - Monday. Is that too late?

Golo - for the most part I'm thinking we would be trading just quilter's cotton. As for those that are trading with me (will know who after I pull names from a hat), I'll take ANY scraps. My string quilts have flannels, cotton, plaid, linen, just nothing silky or satin. Also, I'm fine with cats (have 4) and dogs (have 1) -- all very loveable to me even if not always to each other. ;)

Oops, Golo, I forgot to answer your question about the same amount of bags for even swaps. Yes that is correct. If you are sending three bags out, you will receive three bags in return.

I spent hours going thru my scrap bag... I have two nice bags ready for trade...I ended up with 2 bags of really small scraps that I set aside for my appliqueing...no good for anything else... and one bag of triangle and small squares that were left over from projects... and a small bag of mediocre scraps that I kept... I think that was a good afternoon well spent.. I know it won't take much to gather more...

karol I can take a picture for you tomorrow and post it... one bag measured 1.1 lbs. and one weighted 1.7........

I am quite willing to send to anyone who wants to send postage, but I don't want any scraps back. I already have WAY too many. Thud I know I have at least 6 large storage boxes, but there are probably more than that.

I tried posting pictures this morning but for some reason nothing is working right... my computor keeps going off... maybe it has something to do with the strong winds we have... I'll try again later, karol...

I thought the saying on my avatar's sign was hysterical. It says "I don't use avatars".

Yes, that was nice.

Yesterday, I went to the post offfice. I fond that I could get a flat rate box to ship a humungous scrap pile for about $10. I went through a large scrap box, sorting it into 1) trash (the largest pile) 2) stuff to go into the flat rate box. 3) stuff I wanted for proejcts in hand. Amazing: that took care of that box.

Wahoo! :yahoo:QM, when I get back from Hawaii, I'll send you $10 postage for your box of scraps. I'm so excited!!!!! I love scrap quilts, but like I said early on in this thread, since I've been pulling out of the same scrap pile for so long, all of my quilts are starting to look the same even though I'm using different patterns. Undesided

Now I can start making more scrap quilts and get some much needed variety. Yippee!!! :quilting1:

Thanks bunches!!! Hug

LEM, I will be delighted to send you some. The flat rate box is $10.35, if you want that many. There are also flat rate envelopes if you don't.

Right now I'm suppose to be in the process of packing for my trip. When I return next Monday 2/16, I'll post a list of everyone who is interested in the swap and then announce who is swapping with who.

See you in a little over a week.

For those of you who are getting my scraps, let me know if you want any Dresden Plate precuts.

I suspect memaw4 is the last person I will be sending to.

No, I am not sad. We are talking about moving. IF we do, scraps don't go along. I
ll admit yo being a bit overwhelmed at the moment. I am sorting OUT the outright trash and Walmart fabric, as well as things I really intend to use, from what I am sending.

YES YES YES! I'll be happy with any of your scraps, but I do love Smitten Dresden Plate.
