PK - I like your idea about the Christmas wall hanging. I did something similar a couple of years ago. I made paper pieced flowers and trees for coasters and matching pot holders. All were pretty scrappy looking, but turned out great. Mom won't even use her set (especially the coasters) for fear of getting them dirty. UGH@! That's what they're for. Get them dirty, toss them in the wash and then use them again. I doubt the plasting in the coasters or the insulbright in the potholders will shrink with the amount of quilting I put into each one. ;)

Exactly! I just won't wash the wall hangings because of the glued-on ornaments. They are the ones that are tiny for those A Tree For Me trees that are about 12" tall....

I have spent the last 3 days coping with leg/ankle pain that prevented me from getting much of anything accomplished. This evening, I decided that I could focus enough to do a little applique'. Oops. I found that I had created most of one Sun Bonnet Sue, but forgotten to attach her to her background. She‘s now done. Maybe tomorrow I can tackle the swap boxes again. I have been bored out of my skull.

Marynel, let me know when you send out my scraps and I'll be looking for them. It's Saturday 28th and I wasn't sure when you had planned to send them. I'm in no hurry I just wanted to know so the mailman won't leave them laying by the road. He's done that before and we don't like him to do that. We live out and anyone can and will stop and take stuff.

Ohhhhh the life of a country woman!

Sorry for not writing this last couple weeks. One week I was in Hawaii on vacation. :). The next week we spent with my FIL in the hospital. Sadly he passed away last week. The services are this Wednesday, so hopefully things can get somewhat back to normal by next week or so.

Okay, no more excuses, just wanted to let you know why I haven't sent out my scraps yet. I'll get them mailed out this week -- PROMISE!!! I have to because I'm going out of town again starting on Sunday for two weeks. Yikes! Well, at least this year is not as bad as last year.

Thanks all for making my scrap pile much more versitile that it has been for years!

Barb, if you only want to do three bags, that's fine. The new list will be changed as follows:

Bearfoot sends one bag each to: golo, lem, and linda 2b
Linda 2B sends one bag each to: golo, lem, and stcycly66.
Lem will send one bag instead of two to bearfoot.

LINDA, Don't make any changes yet until we hear back from Barb.

Well, it's official..... I am a complete idiot!!! :affraid: :hammer: doh I changed the list above, but changed it WRONG! The way I changed it golo will get one bag too many and bearfoot one bag too few.

Embarassed Golo, when you get the bag from linda, would you mind forwarding it to bearfoot. Of course if you haven't sent out your scraps yet, you could wait to send bearfoot her scraps until you get the scraps from linda and then forward them together. At any rate I will send you a check to reimburse you for the extra postage when I send your scraps to you later in the week. Let me know how much the extra postage comes to.

Soooooooooo sorry all the way around for making such a mess of things. You would think it shouldn't be all that complicated, but somehow I ended up confusing myself.

Sincere apologies for my ineptitude on this one!
Lora.

Golo,
If you haven't mailed the scrapes I sent to bearfoot yet, just keep them! I'll put another bag together for Bearfoot. No sense in spending extra money on postage. I'll just hand delivery them to her.
Let me know.

Hey, I posted to this thread last night and now it isn't here! angry
Anyway, I pretty much said the same thing as Linda. Just keep the extra bag, Golo. I think it will all work out in the end anyway! No use spending more money on the postage!

Thanks quiltermarynel for the info. I'm sending all my tattered garden blocks out Thursday too. Sounds like a good day to send things out. I'll keep watch out for them sometime next week. I'll let you know when I receive mine.

DH shipped off 4 boxes yesterday. Norma, Linda, Memaw, your stuff is on the way. When DH got home, he said, "Your boxes are still in the truck." I was really ticked, thinking he had not mailed them after all, but he meant the new empties. He loves to tease.
