PostSubject: Should I release a new BOM now?   Sun Feb 01, 2009 9:32 pm

Hi there,

Recently during a conversation with Golo we came up with the idea of creating a BOM just for everyone here at Quilters Last Resort. I then got busy drawing up designs (Golo thought an aussie theme might be fun). The designs are for stitchery/embroidery but I have tried to make sure that sections are big enough that pieces can be traced and appliqued to save time or give a different look. They are also designed so you can add buttons, charms and embellishments. They can be coloured and painted, whatever takes your fancy.

Due to technical difficulties (I couldnt find a file sharing company to make the designs easily downloadable etc etc) I wasnt able to release Januarys block on the 15th as intended. Now Im not sure if I should start it at the moment or not. Was worried some of you have a lot going on with BOMs, but then on the other hand doesnt make much difference as you still have the same amount to do each month according to how many you do LOL and a lot of us just save the files for another time. Anyway, I dont know what to do so - its a gift for you, you choose - what do you want? Do you want me to release the hounds now or hold them in check for later?

My DH uses www.box.net for his files.

I would love to take on another project, but I just can't right now. I have waaaayyy to many that I have committed to so later in the year would work for me.

Gimpy, I can hardly wait to see what you have going, but I have voted for May....I feel overwhelmed with all the BOM, swaps and quilts I started last year and I am trying to get them all done and doing a good job at it.. by May I should have a good handle on all past projects. Because I just know once you post those patterns I am going to have to start them....

GC, I have a place that I use for downloadable files that I'm finally happy with. I can even make my docs private or public - if they're private, only the people I share the address with can get to the files.

You wanna know more? In May??? :afro:

Well I guess it looks like I start it in May LOL, thats ok, better to do it when people are ready and want it. Fibrebabble Id be interested in hearing who you use for your file sharing, I got an acct set up fine (after bob got me to sign up with one, yeah next day I log in and there are pics of all the latest uploaded public files and it was all naked guys about 20 - ewwwww, not the kinda thing I reckon most of the ladies here want to be seeing Embarassed lmao ) so I had to find a new more business like company LOL. We had problems getting the actual image file saved so that it didnt keep printing out teeny weeny (like some of those pics I saw on bobs site lmao ) got it now as a PDF file for download. Would like to hear how you handle any graphics. Barb thanks for your link too, I have written it down for future reference, I had already set up an acct with file den but might move it across to boxnet if its a good one.

I will get the spare feb one loaded and post the link, just in case anyone wants something to do that they shouldnt be LOL after all, it is for valentines..................... lovehearts

Gimpy...I am looking forward to seeing and starting your BOM.
I can never have enough BOM'S......I never feel guilty starting BOM'S as its easy to keep up with them. My son did mention that I have so many BOM'S going on that I could probably make a quilt a month lmao
