PostSubject: Table Runners ...and Toppers?   Fri Feb 20, 2009 10:32 pm

The Simply Hearts Tablerunner from Cottage Quilt Designs. Free pattern is here: http://cottagequiltdesigns.info/free.htm

This links to a pdf file here:
http://cottagequiltdesigns.info/SHT.pdf

I'm giving the direct pdf link (though I don't like to do that) because the page that links to it is pretty generically named. Some day the site owner might decide to put up a different Free Pattern on that page!

I probably didn't follow the pattern exactly as written, BTW... and I made up the placemats! :flower:

Woo-hoo! I'm not alone here! :yahoo:

:peek: Somebody do me a favor and click on this and tell me if you are able to find a bunch of downloadable freebie table runner patterns:

http://www.allpeoplequilt.com/projects-ideas/table-toppers-runners/index.html

I'm a member, so I don't know if I get to see different things than non-members do...

If that's NOT the case - then this list will keep you busy for a little while! Better go refill your :coffee1:

How Stuff Works has a whole page of free table runner patterns here:

http://home.howstuffworks.com/quilted-table-runner-patterns.htm

and there's a very cool "Vintage Christmas" tablerunner/placemat pattern here:
http://www.redroosterfabrics.com/content5745.html

I don't see why it's called "Vintage" and I certainly can't imagine limiting myself to "Christmas" on that one. Maybe it's just the fabric line... :D

I'm glad the APQ link works. I'm trying not to overwhelm you, you know.

If you could see my dining table other than when company was due :affraid: I'd use table runners as, uh, table runners. But in my house, they come in handy for doilies. And last minute gifts. They magically become wallhangings when they're hung above a door frame or in that little narrow strip between the front door and the window...

Personally, I'm hoping to use them as protection from the Secret Santa's wrath... lol!

:peek: PS - Gloria? I sleep from 1:45-7:30 Friday-Sunday nights (okay, Saturday-Monday mornings) and 1:45-8:30 the rest of the week. I am not opposed to naps.

Here's a quick runner that can look totally different every time you make it, depending on the fabrics you choose: Meow-Meow Cat Fabric Table Runner!

You can get to the free pattern from http://phyllisdobbs.info/free-pattern-meow-meow-cat-fabric-table-runner/ (wander around the site - there's some cute stuff!)

picture posted with the designer's permission

Hey, Gimpy, Is your cat the quilt police? Looks like he's trying to examine the product. Are you stitches even. Are the points exact? MEOW (means yes is cat talk). lmao
