PostSubject: ugly yellow brick road swap   Tue Mar 17, 2009 8:47 pm

I'm starting this now to see if anyone else would like to join in on this swap, you are to take all your ugly material, make a yellow brick road block, one block for each person that joins,The blocks will be 9 1/2 square,to see what that block looks like and how to make it you can go to
www.ehow.com/how_2294154_sew-yellow-brick-road-quilt.html
How many would like to join up to do this, if we get enough, we will close the sign up at the end of april, and decide when they would have to be done before then, giving people time to finish up some of the other projects comeing near a close. well what do you ladies think? Here is what they look like
The sizes for the pieces will be 9 1/2 x 3 1/2 and 2- 3 1/2 x 6 1/2 and 2- 3 1/2 squares, those are in inches, lol..making a 9 1/2 inch square.squares should arrive to me for sending out no later than end of May.everyone is to sign and put where they are from on each square

yeah so far we have:

I checked out your site, Breezie.... is there a picture of the quilt and what size are we to make the squares and rectangles.... I am assuming we will all make the same size? Oh! I'm in.... I am sure I can find ugly fabric in my stash... Undesided

ok,, guess it wouldn't matter which way you put them together, as there is no yellow in each to make the brick road but here is the traditional way
https://i83.servimg.com/u/f83/13/03/37/24/ybr11.jpg
if we don't have alot sign up we might want to make 2 for each person, if we have a lot 1 each will do.

Have a question. Does there have to be yellow in each square. No problem making more than one square. jessie s

I'm having alittle trouble with this one, I've been going through my stash and I pick up a piece of material and think that's so ugly then I start to cut it and think wow not so ugly,, is any piece really ugly or just ugly in certain places it's put,, oh well keep trying here lol
golo love yours,, now see together like that they aren't the greatest colors but in something else they might spring,, I love them,, great job.
what do you girls think 1 or 2 per person, since we haven't had a lot of sign ups..?

what is the time limit on this?? I wouldn't mind joining in....but I am sorta busy trying to get these quilts done for the quilt show right now and probably would not be able to do this until next month.... I will have to dig around and see what I 'now' consider ugly...obviously, I didn't think it was too ugly when I bought it....but you girls know how your taste changes as time goes on.... and ..... I just got rid of some fabric I thought was 'ugly'.... oh dear Thud ya never know when you are going to be needing that 'ugly' I guess

OK Breeze, will mail mine, but live in Canada. Will send a self addressed envelope but postage a problem. Do you want me to just pop the cash in envelope, not a real problem or send a FQ like do in other projects. If you want cash will be in Canadian and or no problem to get a USA money order. jessie s
