Wow, Golo, I love-love-love the main fabric in that last one!

I pulled out some coffee fabric that I think will rhyme pretty well with your teacups. I probably won't be able to start on it until Sunday or so - I have a 'Bee" on Saturday and sometime between now and then I need to cut about 540 - 2x5" rectangles from scraps to swap. :affraid:

:peek: Guess who hasn't even cut ONE yet??

OH, Golo - the horses are GREAT! Wow, you sure have some cool fabric to play with!!!

I'm back from my Bee - for once I actually worked on most of what I took with me. *Isn't that the way it goes? I always take 10 times more than I actually have time to work on and THEN I'm flitting from person to person to the food table and then to someone else - I rarely get to sit for very long at these things (probably has to do with being 'the teacher', huh?)*

Anyway, I'm a smidge fired up (that's like being a little bit pregnant, I'm sure), so I will hopefully continue with the sewing extravaganza.

Not surprisingly, I'll keep you all posted!!

These aprons are so much fun to whip up... not quite 2 hours to make one... but alas I must move on... I have two quilts sitting here, one in the quilting stage and one ready to cut out... I need to get motivated to finish the quilting.... Paws I would compare this to binding...

Golo, yes I plan on using my 'Texas Bluebonnet' fabrics for one apron at least... then I have that adorable 'frog' fabric and a few others. But definately the bluebonnets.

I've got the apron cut out, the pocket made, the waistband and ruffle ready to put on.

I have NOT done the ties yet - The pattern says to cut them out of the same fabric as the apron and the waistband; do you think that I could cut them out of the contrasting ruffle fabric instead? I didn't see anything in the rules that said we couldn't - what do you think?

I'm having problems figuring out what I want to use for the piping/flange along the ruffled edge. Golo, the way I'm reading the pattern, it looks like the "piping" is " finished? You're the experienced one here... :angelic:

I dont see why you cant make them from the contrasting fabric, the ties that is, being creative is what they are all about

I made mine to suit me.... I think they want you to use your imagination.... Did you check out the 1st challenge with the purses... they did a lot of embellishing... so if you can embellish go for it... I don't think from pictures they are going to be able to measure anything exact...... Do what you think looks best...

I found some fabric that has birds on it, including the cardinal. The other birds are also found here in OH so I think I will use it. This is going to be fun! I am waiting for the fabric to come out of the wash. After the contest, this one will go to DH's step grandma. She is such a sweet lady!

Oh wow Golo those aprons are beautiful. My oldest dd loves aprons. I may have to make a couple for her for Christmas this year. I made one this past year I had gotten from Joann fabrics when they were on sale. She loved it, but these are just gorgous! You do such beautiful work and so fast!

I do hope one of you win this. Hummer I want to see your's and FB's also.

Golo, I may be reduced to asking the check-out girl at Michael's to model the apron next time I go in. lol! (none of the "girls" at Joann fabs are any smaller than I am!!)

I took the day off from sewing today. It wasn't intentional - I was in a foul mood when I woke up and I thought I was hiding it fairly well but... Mr. W. was really, really, REALLY supportive when I said that I'd like to just go back to bed and start the day over. doh

So after my do-over, today has been a handwork day; some yarn stuff, some embroidery stuff. We'll see what tomorrow brings!

FB you do make me laugh, even when you are in a foul mood LOL Laura does the same thing, gets up in a dirty mood and she will go back and climb into bed, stay there a while and then come out again to re-start her day! It works for her most times too. Did you get some more sleep when you went back to bed? I have had a few days recently where I didnt want to get up, would have preferred to just pull the quilt up over my head and stay there, couple of days I was so tired I would have killed (if I had the engery) to stay in bed longer. Sounds like you had a nice day in the end, Im glad for you
