black might have closed the blocks and the quilt in, made the twisted blocks look busy and cramped. I think I like the binding you used, lets them feature and doesnt compete wtih them

I finally finished the first block. I'm going to do them all then decide if I want to color. I am also doing an applique version I hope to get done soon, but for now finalizing the new house purchase is taking mostof my time.

Thanks for reminding me Linda, I have it scanned but the program was acting up to convert it to a PDF and upload it. With the new computer I will have to get on that and try it again. Will put it on my list to do tommorow and take a photo of the block too Very Happy

Linda I took a photo of the block and it vanished, when cleaning out my sewing room I took a new one, here it is, if you want the pattern let me know, Im still trying to get the scanned file to work for me but here is the tasmanian version of octobers block. In oct the tulip farm is in full bloom, Van Diemens Bulbs exports over a millon bulbs to holland each season! Their farm is situated up on top of Table Cape and the lighthouse there overlooks the tulips and other bulbs they grow

Gimpy here's a blast from the past! I started doing your BOM in 2009 but got side tracked with other things. But I am back to them. Here is the first and second blocks and I'm almost done with the third one. This is my first attempt at embroidery.

Linda2B, your blocks are beautiful. I do not like to embroidery at all. I was never good
at it so I didn't enjoy it. Nuff said.

Gimpy, your block is beautiful as well.

Memory has failed me, but someone made a quilt and gave it to their hubby and I
thought it was just gorgeous!

I do admire you ladies that can do embroidery!

Oh Linda they look awesome, we just saw a spotted quoll (the animal in 2nd block) a few nights back, they are beautiful. Your embroidery looks great, well done. You know my blocks have been on my mind recently, I have them and the fabric picked to go with them, just need to decide sashing sizes, cut etc. You might inspire me to get back to mine. I love your blocks!

Memaw I dont like embroidery much either, shhhhh dont tell anyone LOL...

Gimpy do you still have the replacement block you made for Oct I think it was Oct. The replacement was the block with tulips. I have a picture but not the pattern.

My MIL has made four double size embroidered quilts and they are beautiful. She doesn't sew much anymore due to poor eyesight so she picks out the fabric for sashing and backing and sends them out to be finished. They are absolutely beautiful and she says they are to be given to DH/me and her DD/SIL after her death. I would not have the patience to do that many blocks and her stitches are all perfect. I've done some embroidery through the years, but prefer cross stitch or quilting. I started out long ago doing crewel embroidery.

Thanks Gimpy I got it! Didn't get any done in California.
I worked on my project till 10pm most nights. Still didn't get
much done, but I'm working on it a little every chance I get.
I don't want to leave it half done and lost in my UFO black hole!
It will take a while to finish. I picked a pattern that was to hard
for my first attemp but I'm not giving up. Steady wins the race! I Hope!
