| This quilt was part of a F8th swap I participated in, with another board. We each picked out our own focus fabric. Then sent a fat 8th to each participant. They made you a block and mailed it back to you. It was fun. This was the quilt I made from those blocks. I used a fluffy batting that was given to me. (not my normal choice...but it was free!) and used backing that I have had forever! So, I didn't spend a dime to finish this one. gotta love that! When they mailed your block back to you...they were suppose to mail all the scraps back from your originial 8th. I used those scraps to make the stars in the sashing (new to me!). I used every little tiny bit of scrap!!! It was good they mailed those back to me!! Washed it and crinkled it all up. It's soft and fluffy, not perfect, and I love it! Thought I would share with you all! My stars...

| UGH...I have the hardest time with pictures!! That last one is upside down and I CANNOT fix it!!
I give up. That picture is correct side up (see the boat in the middle!) on my computer!! It is saved in the right orientation. But when I upload to photobucket, it flips it...and wont' let me fix it! I have deleted and uploaded again...same problem. just tip your head sideways!
UGH!!!
okay...i fixed it! that was way more trouble than is should have been!!

| Karol its great, I love the idea of the swap and sending out your fabrics, first time I have heard of that, what a neat idea! It looks snuggly, well done, how cool to have it all finished, do tey greys think its snuggly? _________________ "My will is mine.....I shall not make it soft for you" Aeschylus, Agamemnon

| Gimpy...it's HOT here!! No the greys don't snuggle with ANYTHING right now!! But they will someday!
It was a fun swap. We exchanged fat 8ths. and then returned all that was left from the 8th when the block was finished. An 8th doesn't go as far as you would expect!!
It was fun seeing what other people selected for their fabric too. We made 12 1/2" blocks.
Thanks for the compliments. I loved my fabric choice! It just screamed summer...and I was hoping the finished quilt would too!

| Great quilt Karol! But it was a swap so that means you made 15 blocks for others with each of their fat 1/8 ths. too? Did you get to pick the block? I love the idea. And your quilt is definitely summer! :flower: | |

| Karol.. I love that idea to send fabric and have someone make the blocks.. great quilt came outta that!! sometimes we buy fabric and don't have a clue what to do with it it would be perfect for someone else to make a block and you didn't get any duplicate blocks either.. something we can do on this board?? future ideas anyone??
I can see already that a few would think it a possibility... |

| Yes, I made 15 blocks also (including the one for me and my own quilt). And yes, I picked out my own pattern. Now they have done some swaps were you had to make a 'star' or paper piece or something. This was just regular piecing swap.
One thing to think about is that you are giving out your home address and name to 14 other people...who you may not know. We sorta made sure on the other board that it was people we were familiar with and comfortable giving out personal info.

| Oh what a bright cheerful quilt! The quilting looks nice too..so maybe the thicker batting would be OK for future projects? Soo..you sent the Summery print..and everyone picked their own "go withs'? You chose a nice focus fabric that had nice color options for other people to choose from. Pretty! |

| I love it. Definitely screams summer. The white makes all the color so bright. Very good choice of focus fabric Karol. _________________ TxMaryQuilts

| Well, memaw...yes, I was at the point of making you all stand on your heads!! I get so frustrated with things that don't work right!! Finally I figured out if it just named the picture something different it would save right way up. Go figure!!
The thick batting isnt' my fave to work with...but it's okay sometimes!
And yes, I tried to pick a fabric that most everyone would have something in their stash to mix with! Some people were very particular and wanted very specific fabrics to match. To each her own! I just let it ride...do what you do best!!
Thank you for your compliments!
