| Interesting things going on in the gallery indeed. I don't see thumbnails of the latest downloads but I can read the description! If I click on the description I see the picture. Hopefully it will all sort out. Denise it is very good to meet you. So happy you are joining in and sharing pictures. Lovely work. I have a Tin Lizzie 18. I pretty much only do pantos or some free hand meandering. I am not very adventurous, not to mention not talented enough to do fancy free hand work. Hi Jane, good to hear from you. I looked at your gallery too. Baby Ted is sooo adorable. _________________ TxMaryQuilts

| Gimpy Cat: Per your advise I waited overnight and came back today to look at my photo album and I'm still seeing the same thing. When I go to view other member photo albums in the Gallery "Users Personal Albums" the (the majority show a photo on the front of their album) and when you click on their album it opens up to a screen with thumbnail pics of each of their photos. When you click on a thumbnail, it opens up to show a full view pic - some having descriptive captions. Now when I look at my member photo album in the Gallery "Users Personal Albums) I don't have a photo on the front of my folder. When I click on my album and it opens up, I don't have any thumbnail photos. It opens up to show a VERY large screen which runs off the right side of my screen and in order to see from one side of the screen to the other, I have to drag a bar at the bottom of my screen over to the right in order to see the rest of the rectangles and any functions respective keys. All this very large disply only shows large rectangles - each containing the name of the photo but no thumbnail pics. When I click on a rectangle and it opens, it does show the full view of the photo along with all the info I included. Is this how everyone else's displays when they look at their OWN album or is there something weird happening with my album. Have I set it up wrong - should I delete everything and start over? I'm puzzled Or, is the site still having glitches behind the scenes? Sorry to pester - just trying to figure this out. | |

| I think that you and I loaded pics at the same time and having the same trouble, my older photos are fine but the newest ones are bonkers . I am not sure that it is a " site " problem or a "server " problem. It is confusing because my quit photos are bonkers but not the one of the new grandson. Hopefully it is going to readjust soon

| It seems to be only effecting the photos you both loaded into the gallery during the data centre swap, Id say something is corrupted and it might be best to remove them and then put them back, sorry for the inconvenience. Oh and no, when you look at your own gallery images it should be the same as when you look at other peoples, not huge like that on your computer _________________ "My will is mine.....I shall not make it soft for you" Aeschylus, Agamemnon

Okay, I will delete what I uploaded yesterday (not a big problem for me as there weren't that many) and then I'll reload them. Hopefully, it was just a glitch during the data centre swap and all will go well. Thank you for your support.

| Not to worry - I didn't run away. Just deleted my pics and will try uploading them again - hopefully with success this time. Hope to have them back up soon. Thanks for looking for me. Perhaps lowjane is correct - it's a Canadian thing | |

| Lovely quilts Denise. Love the Scales of Justice. Very nice. Sam and Sue are cute too. What is the story behind the Medallion quilt? (You did say to ask. ) _________________ TxMaryQuilts

| LowJane, I love your quilts. I want to do an apple core but the curves worry me. You have done some great quilting. I just can't bring myself to try all that fancy stuff. Chicken. That's me. _________________ TxMaryQuilts

What is the story behind the Medallion quilt? (You did say to ask. ) The Medallion Story: I decided to design a Medallion Quilt for our bed (it's a king size) and always wanted to do something with a Turquoise and Dark Brown Colourway combination. I told DH what I was planning when he asked what my next project was going to be. (in hindsight....he must've had his deaf husband ears on ?) So I set out on EQ7, designed the blocks and layout and proceeded to cut all the templates/fabrics using the above colourway along with "Fairy Frost" from the Michael Miller Collection for accompanying accents. During the course of my working on the quilt top DH would glance at the progress of the quilt top as I was laying it up on my design wall (he must've had his blind husband eyes on then . Having just finished piecing the last row and ready to add it to the quilt top DH says to me while walking by "it's a nice design but I'm not a big fan of the colour Turquoise". I just stopped what I was doing and said (not sure if there was a swear word mixed along with it somewhere ) WHAT?? DH says well you know, "Turquoise isn't a colour I'd choose for anything since it's never been on my list of likes - but go ahead and finish it for our bed - it doesn't matter." Well, it does matter to me - why would I expect someone to look at something night after night. I mean really, a quilt is a rather large thing - especially a King Size to ignore or not notice. I would like to think he would enjoy seeing it just as much as me. There was a little more discussion at that point (and I'm almost certain there was a no-no word or two) but I won't belay the telling of the story any further.....think 'ya all understand where I'm at here So rather than putting it on the bed knowing he really didn't care for it - I put it up for sale as an Quilt Top only and a lovely lady in Florida (someone I know from another Quilt Forum I also belong to) purchased it. After I did the final attachment of the blocks and added the borders, it was shipped off to it's new owner. All in all, everyone's happy - DH doesn't have to endure seeing a colour he really doesn't care for, I don't have to feel bad about putting something on our bed that doesn't appeal to DH and my friend in Florida gets to enjoy her new quilt because she really fell in love with it. Needless to say, before making any quilts for our bed - I make sure DH confirms he's okay with the colours .

| Its not a Canadian thing, just happens that the two canadians were using the gallery at the same time the data centre was moving, whats the odds of that?!! Denise, you are a more patient woman than I am, apart from plenty of no-no words I think the quilt would have become my DH's very own funeral shroud and put to instant use Years ago I used to do a lot of work for a particular builder, everyone loved him but and he was a bit 'fussy' and bitchy at times, one day I went to his home to do some grouting in his ensuite, when I walked into his bedroom it all made sense. He was living and sleeping every night in a frou frou room, ruffles and lace everywhere, frilly pillows, more shades of pink than I knew even existed, it was appalling. I couldnt make a man sleep in that, no wonder he was so fussy, it was subliminal _________________ "My will is mine.....I shall not make it soft for you" Aeschylus, Agamemnon

| Tx Mary . the applecore is so easy it is my favorite to do. I have an accuquilt cutter and made a few kits to take south this winter and one is of the applecore . I had no trouble easing in the applecore, some folks pin. I didn't I had the bottom piece sit flat on the bed of the machine, I took a few stitches of top and bottom together. Afterwards I kept the top piece a little elevated off the bottom and it allowed me to easily ease the top piece in as I went along. There are several you tube videos if you need to peak and see what others do . I had no trouble and after the first two I was on a roll and strip the rest of them, easy peasy!
The quilt top when to together very easily, I used a poly batting and accented it all with a gold tone Isacord in the baptist fan pattern

| Thanks for the tips Jane. Oh Denise, I did have to laugh but soooo know that feeling of frustration that comes from the "deaf ears" and "blind eyes". You are a patient woman. "Funeral shroud", took the words right out of my mouth Helen. _________________ TxMaryQuilts

| Yes ladies - I am seriously thinking about adopting the "funeral shroud" alternative to selling off my hard work should there be another " ya know, I'm really not fond of ......." situation come along. Although, to save myself the grief, not to mention work, I am trying to be as definite at to what colours I'm using for "our stuff" so as to not go through this again | |
