| Does anyone keep up with the contests over at Quilting Gallery dot com? This week's virtual quilt contest theme is Spring Garden (voting is here). Now, I don't have a quilt entered into this contest (though I might have entered Be Still My Heart if I'd known about the contest sooner), and I don't know anyone who has entered. Unless I'm being brain-dead and this has been discussed ad nauseum in the forum??? I voted in the current week's contest. I was surprised afterward at the reveal of the (so-far) total votes for each quilt. It just goes to show that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Or some people have a LOT of friends... BTW next week's theme is Birds & Bugs. _________________ Perfection is the enemy of progress

I have done a couple of mini swaps with this site and have been very lucky with the mini's that I rec'd I have seen what others have done and I consider myself very lucky!! LOL! I know what you mean about the swaps, betweens... I did one also. The one I received was striking, though I have to admit that I replaced the binding so it would have square corners... And yes I most certainly have seen the 'next' BOM from Beth " Flutterby Fancies". In faaact, it's already traced and partially cut out (the fusible, at least). I was reloading that derned page from late afternoon Friday until it showed up Saturday evening, hoping to get a jump on it Cool thing is that it's the same background layout as the first one, so I could actually get a head start on it. Oh, except we're out of the background fabric right now (I feel a rant coming on... hold on... juuuuuuust a sec.... Phew! It passed!). You know, the reason I initially posted the contest info was that when I voted (and I don't remember to do so very often) the one that received the most votes was really, really not what I would have considered even in the top three. Like, I totally couldn't believe it! I know that it sounds snarky, but my first thought was 'stuffing the ballot box'. I would hope that if I were to enter something into one of these things that my friends here would still vote for what they considered the best, whether it was mine or not, yanno? _________________ Perfection is the enemy of progress

| This site also has a Quilt Shop Locator (we use it for our online store). It seems fairly well populated and used.

| I must be missing something. I can't see the current contest. The most recent one I see is December of 2012. | |

| I think the reason the most recent contest is from 2012 is because the original post HERE is from 2010, 4 YEARS ago! A lot can change in that time....at least that is my guess on why there's nothing more recent. | |

| Dennis, I think what it is is that people are looking for the contest in the original post in this thread. When you commented the first time on this thread a few days ago, it bumped it up from the way back machine. I know that's what I was looking for until I noticed the dates. Some of us like to use the "View posts since your last visit" and this has jumped up to that list now.
Thanks for clarifying what you were talking about though! I thought you were looking at the website mentioned inthe first post here as well. :) | |

| This topic was originally about another site/store that was running weekly contests, nothing to do with QLR, it was posted so members here could join some competition fun, just like sharing sales and links to cool stores we find. For competitions pertaining to QLR, we have an actual board which Aquaduck gave a link to, I didnt get to run any giveaways or competitions last year, hopefully this year we will get to. Anyone can run a giveaway or competition, feel free. The board is located here at GAMES & COMPETITIONS _________________ "My will is mine.....I shall not make it soft for you" Aeschylus, Agamemnon
