| I'm planning on buying some of the Bottom Line when I place the kimono silk order. For now its hanging behind my sewing machine waiting for inspiration to strike.

| Thanks Chris, that says applique and bobbin, is that all you use that for or do you use it on top too?? I don't care for silk at all, got rid of all mine. Did you know that silk is the strongest thread there is and with time will actually cut through the cotton material. I have actually seen this done and it's not pretty, no way to repair. Norma | |

| Norma...Ive not heard of silk cutting cotton, but I've heard of poly cutting cotton. I use the bobbin thread when I use the embroidery machine. Many of the designs are very dense and light bottom thread is necessary. I've never used bottom line in the top but am looking to do silk on an art quilt because I want to do some very dense stippling quilting and I want to keep buildup to a minimum | |

| I'm anxious to see that when it's done Chris. We have a couple that lives around our area that goes around showing antique quilts to special guilds and sewing classes and they had one that happened to. It was such a shame because it was such a beautiful quilt too. They sure are very knowledge able about the materials and their ages, colors back then, very sweet couple. I also remember reading that in one of my books too. Norma | |

| But Norma silk also rots . So many old quilts with silk in them and the cotton around it is fins but the silk has rotted |

| I haven't seen that HP. Good to know. I also don't like the way it separates on the ends when trying to applique by hand and how it wears at the eye of the needle. Seems like a lot of waste and expense to me. Just my opinion. Norma | |
