| I finished this top yesterday by putting a small border on it. It was a mystery quilt pattern presented by Jackie Robinson at last June's retreat. I had finished the top and then put it away. Now it is done and ready to be sent off to be quilted. The top measures 66x90 and has about 6 different raspberry reds and 6 different greens in it. My pug, Corki decided she wanted to 'help' with the picture taking and refused to move... I showed it to my DH and right off he spotted a problem with it....can you find it?? I am not changing it, will just use that as a reference point for the top of the quilt. | |

| Is it the green star on the wrong side of the red star at the top??? That quilt is so busy, I sure wouldn't worry about that. I had to really look for it , because you mentioned it. That's pretty. | |

| Wow! What a great quilt!! I am not looking for whatever the problem is. I'm just feasting my eyes on the beautiful quilt, and on dear Corkie who I've been lonesome for! I think Corkie knew I needed to see her. | |

| Thanks gals :thankyou: I really was upset when DH found the mistake...but since this is a smaller quilt and I will probably keep it (sorry Memaw)....I usually keep all of my mystery quilts.... then it will just be the way it is.....as you all probably know a mystery is where you are told to select fabrics from different color ways, given the yardage for each colorway and background...you never know what it is you are putting together until the last 'clue' is passed out and it usually will have a picture with it. I do like doing mystery quilts as it really makes you think outside the box. I am not sure I will ever do this pattern again, not overly fond of pinwheels...but I do like stars and the majestic mountain blocks. :pup1: Corki seems to like it.... | |

| I know mystery quilts confounded me...esp the color choices!! I have seen some made up that had very little contrast...YOURS is beautiful!! And Corki is so sweet helping out! Your color choices really make that quilt POP! Very, VERY nice job! | |

| that's a lovely quilt!! If it bothers YOU, applique something there, otherwise, you did it because you don't want to claim God's perfection.
BTW, my DH sees critiquing my quilts as a part of his job too. | |

| Is that Cops you're watching with hubby???? Memaw and I have DH's who watch Cops. I made a Cops quilt for mine a couple of years ago. I had found some fabric at WalMart with police stuff on it so I came up with a pattern and surprised him with it for his birthday. He got a big laugh out of it. | |

| No, actually by the time I got off here he was ready to go to bed! So I turned to House Hunters International and dreamed! Oh to have a budget of $300 - 600,000.00 to work with! And the homes are usually less than 1000 sq. ft.! Go figure. ~memaw4~ |

| I do understand what you mean. When we got our previous house, we actually got a better than usual price because the house was "inconveniently" big!! (5 beds, 3 1/2 baths), so I do understand what you mean. People with plenty of money to spend are often people without kids, ergo, smaller houses. | |

| Well, again I just can't imagine having that kind of money for a second home! Let alone for a first home! You'd be working all the time just to make the payments on the thing! When would you really ever have the time to just sit and enjoy it? |

| DH and I usually watch House Hunters in the evening and I've often wondered if the money isn't inherited, because I just don't see how a young couple with a family and all the financial obligations that goes along with that would have the extra money to spend on a vacation home. I once read on the HGTV message boards that all the info on that program is scripted like a movie, and that the people looking at properties aren't even the real buyers. | |

| I've often wonder about that Jill. How could they be? I know when we wer young and just starting out with kids, we sure didn't have that kind of money to go out and buy our first home with! Or a second vacation home! We don't now! |

| Mamu just declare thats the evening star, it rose first and is looking back waiting for all the others to rise! Mamu, seriously, your quilt is beautiful, if it really bothers you you could unpick and reposition but I dont think it needs it, the colour and fabric choices, the pattern, the whole quilt is just beautiful, I love it and you had fun with the mystery and sure got a beautiful quilt out of it. Id be proud to have it in my home, enjoy it _________________ "My will is mine.....I shall not make it soft for you" Aeschylus, Agamemnon
