| I'm thinking about replacing mine soon or having them sharpened. I was wondering what kind of scissors you use. Mine are Fiskars and everytime I see Gingher's on sale at JoAnn's I think about buying a pair but haven't yet. | |

| For a good basic scissors I really like Fiskars with the titanium blades.
Gimpy - I love my little 4" Omnigrid S-4. It's nice and sharp with needle point blades.
I just recently got the new Kay Buckley scissors for cutting my fused applique pieces. It's a beauty!! I got the bigger one - didn't think I should splurge on both at once, but I just have to get the smaller one soon. I ordered through Ami Simms' web site because she gives so much to Alzheimers' research - - just in case anyone is thinking of ordering those I just had to put in a pitch for Ami. | |

| I have a drawer full of scissors ...all types and priced from $70 down to supermarket cheapies . What do I use most ? for cutting fusible I have a pair of Fiskars curved blade which were only cheap. Foe cutting my applique as I sew I use a pair of very pointy embroidery scissors ....wish I knew where I purchased them from . I know they were cheap and I LOVE them . For general purpose use I use a pair of 5 or 6 inch from the supermarket . If they get blunt I just buy another pair [ usually every few years] I have several different sizes in these supermarket scissors that I use for cutting template plastic , paper etc. Doesn't matter if I damage them in any way because they are cheap and easily obtainable. What don't I like or use ? ...... all the expensive ones !! Have never had a pair yet that suit my hands or that I feel comfortable with . Except for a pair of Gngher embroidery scissors that were a gift and I have never used them . I am " saving " them Don't know what for I am quite happy with what i use and the only ones that I think sometimes I might like to have are those ones like the Arm Wrestler types with the very big holes in the handles [ for my arthriticy fingers] but I am concerned that they may also be too heavy for me . This is a problem I find with some of the more expensive ones. |

| I use Fiskars and Ginger... both work well...one less expensive than the other. I too have thought about purchasing Kay Buckly scissors through Ami .... these look very nice and have been designed by a quilter for a quilter. | |

| I have been looking for quite some time for a pair of small pinking shears. I was thinking they would be good for applique instead of clipping curves..just can't find a pair small enough. I think the big ones would be too difficult to get close to the edge. The Kay Buckly scissors look interesting. | |

| My mother had the nicest little embroidery scissors that "got away" somehow after her death. No one will own up to having them. If I were the type I'd go pilfering through both of my sisters' houses and find them.....Of course I'm not like that. Maybe I could get Memaw to do it for me. My sisters can't even thread a needle, so they wouldn't use them anyway. I might just stick with the Fiskars. I have the titanium and I've been pleased, just thought maybe there was something much better. I also have a small pair I keep at the sewing machine, 4 or 5 inches I believe. Thanks for the input. | Well, if you were going to spend money on an expensive scissors. . . maybe you'd like to get one of these! The Superior Thread Snippers. I thought $29.95 was expensive but treated myself, and it's my absolute favorite!!! I keep it next to my sewing machine at all times. http://www.superiorthreads.com/shop/product/superior-snippers/ | |

| I have a bunch of little snippers that someone picked up at a flea market in Az for $2.00 .. I love them and they are the best for cutting threads very close... use them everyday while I am sewing.. | |

| I have several pairs, including both of those brands. My fav, however, was old when my grandma gave it to my mother as a wedding gift. | |
