| Hi Lynn, I am in the Houston area, but grew up in Liberty County. Glad to have you here. I haven't been on this for very long, since November I believe and I enjoy it a lot. Everyone is so friendly and nice. I'm anxious to hear what kind of quilting you like to do and see pictures. Hope we will hear a lot from you. | |

| Hi all I am Marianne, 65 years old and live alone in Mooroopna, northern Vicotira Aust. I have 3 daughters, and 5 grandchildren, 4 girls and 1 boy, they range in ages from 20 to 3. I began patchwork and quilting about 6 years ago but have only managed to finish 2 which means I have a lot of tops just waiting for me to get the mojo back after a major cancer scare and an operaton, but they got it all so am now ok.
I am having a lot of trouble trying to get back to what I was before but it is taking a long time. My daughter and her husband have just bought a gym and swim school in this town so now I can swim in the warm water whenever I feel up to it, they have a set of steps for me to use to get in and out. When your legs go it makes life difficult to say the least.
I should be doing more sewing but add arthritis in one hip and siatica in the same leg, sitting is also hard for most of the day, if only I could do all the things I want ot do laying down!!!
enough of my griping, for now regards marianne r

| Welcome Marianne! So glad to have another member from Aus! I live in a suburb of Houston Texas, but have visited Aus 5 or 6 times...mostly Melbourne, as that is where my DH (dear husband) often works with Esso (ExxonMobil in the States.)
Dive right in and join in the chatter....we love to see what everyone else is doing. You will always find a sympathetic shoulder here as well as advice, fun, and of course...quilts!

| Glad to have you Marianne. We always enjoy meeting someone new. So, from another Texan to another Aussie, welcome. I just attended my second cousin's wedding and learned the happy couple plans to take an extended trip to Australia in a week or two. His grandmother (and my aunt) was from Melbourne and she was one of my favorite aunts.
Please check back with us and let us hear what you are working on and post pictures, also.

| Welcome Marianne, so glad you joined us and stopped by to say hello, we tend to jump all over new members in our excitment at meeting a new friend and we talk a lot and most of it is peppered with lots of questions We enjoy talking about cooking and gardening, books and movies, you name it, anything you can think of and we will gabble away, we need no encouragement. If you need any help finding your way around just let us know ok, everyone is happy to help each other out. So glad you are past the cancer scare and operation and on the way to getting like back to how you want it. Sure do feel some envy over the pool, ahhhh I do miss swimming and to be able to go each day, wow, have a paddle for me ok! Again, welcome to our home _________________ "My will is mine.....I shall not make it soft for you" Aeschylus, Agamemnon

| Welcome to our group Marianne. I'm so glad to hear your health is improving, and hopefully you will be able to return to sewing when you can. I know from experience that only 15 minutes a day can accomplish alot. I've been sewing for longer than I like to think about--54 years now! and quilting for 10 years. There are so many talented and helpful quilters on here who will help you with anything. Please feel free to share shortcuts, tips, etc. as everyone gains from your knowledge. Drop in for just a chat, to tell us how your day is going, or anything that's on your mind.
