I thought I might have. This is part of why I like HST patterns. They come out so well without tearing your hair out and tend to look pretty sharp for the amount of effort.

Another tip that I may have mentioned before is saving patterns you like on a computer program. If I see something I like, such as in an ad or in someone's on line posting, I recreate the pattern in QPro, so I have it easily at hand without taking up whole bookcases with old magazines. I had trouble doing this at first, but now I am pretty good at it. It seems to just take practice.

Thanks so much for the HST tip, QM. I just finished piecing a quilt and was very disappointed in mine and promised to do some practicing before the next time I have to make them. I don't have QP so I wrote your tip on paper and stuck it on my bulletin board near the sewing machine.

Here's a tip I ran across on Pintrest.....why didn't I think of this? I'm sure a lot of you already have!

Use rubber bands for seam allowances on your machine....here's a link to the pic.

TMM, that is a great idea. So simple. That's what makes it great.

Many of my local friends take a few layers of painters' tape to mark their 1/4" line.
