| Just joined an online forum called Pintrest. It's linked to Facebook......basically it's a website that allows you to "pin" or put a link to interesting ideas online and organize them on "boards". You have people follow you and you follow other people's "pins". If you like their link, you "repin" it on one of your boards. It's really fun and I'm finding lots of neat ideas. I currently have four "boards" on my page....recipes, quilting and sewing fun, ideas for SC lakehouse, interesting ideas. Anyone else on Pintrest? I'd like to "follow" your pins if you are! If you are interested....I can "invite" you to join if you give me your email addy. My mom just joined and is having fun with it. Of course....all we need is something else on the computer to do...haha. http://www.pintrest.com | |

| I'm missing the "facebook gene"....im mostly lost on there. I can see the interest but its just too much for me to figure out...is my comment private...public? Sometimes I want public but mostly private. Am I alone? or do others find naviagting it overwhelming? | |

| I'm on Face Book, but since they've change it I don't really like it at all. Not sure I'll be on it much now. I may check this one out TMM is talking about. |

| I.m on Facebook . Only because an online friend of years standing hounded me into it to keep up with her. When I joined , after a very short time , she more or less dumped me . The only people she wanted to communicate with it seemed were Marines. Most of these were young people with foul mouths or old fogies thumping their chests . So CC all of these messages to her came through to me . I didn't want to be associated with people like that Not a good look for someone our age She wasn't interested in me any more so I dropped her off , was no loss. I find the whole thin BORING . I don't want to know that someone went for a walk , had their grand kids visit again , cooked muffins or whatever !! I cannot see the point in it ! The only people on there that I have very minimal contact with are people from a quilting group that I have been on for years . There is no need to have it at all for me . |

| I do Facebook...joined to keep track of my kid's pages and found some friends from my past that I keep up with. I also find quilt patterns, etc.....free ones. Pintrest really doesn't use FB too much except for making it easy for your friends to follow your boards if they join Pintrest. | |

| 0Most of my relatives do facebook, so I signed up. Now I have no idea why. Unfortunately, in the move process I mislaid both my entry code to that and all of my family emails. Grrrr! I don't know how to reach anyone until they reach me. | |

| The new phones that have the buttons that link directly to Facebook will also upload your phone index of all your numbers. These will posted for anyone to see and get transferred to other pages when people link to you, unless you go in and figure out how to block all that. There was an article in our paper about 2 weeks ago about this.
Those of you who have the new phones might want to check into that. _________________ TxMaryQuilts

Facebook is now directly linked to Google too. The other day I was doing a search for a specific fabric and up popped several quilt shops....then under one of them it says Gloria Ch+++ likes this store. Kind of creeped me out. BIG BROTHER is alive and well...that coupled with the announcement this week about On Star collecting Data on former customers....geez....no one is safe. | |
