Texas Quilt Pattern

Saw this quilt on Common Threads site . Boy , it makes me wish I was a Texan Love it ! and fairly simple but effective applique. Any of you Texas ladies doing it ? Scroll down to see the completed blocks .

WOW!!!! I'd love to do that one, but looks very complicated. It' so pretty! But I have two Texas ones in my to do queue! I love every block and really like how they put Texas wildflowers on the blocks. So nice!

It is very nice. TMM, but the time I get to it on my WAD list, we'll both be too old to remember where it goes.

I saw this recently at a quilt show. It is pretty. But I have two other Texas quilts that I already have fabric for so I guess I better do them first.

Yep, if'n someone questions you and sez ya ain't from Texas just look at 'em and say "I guess you'd know, bless your heart."

Yes....that's more hillbilly....Texan would be "lernin"....lol....heavy on the R sound....haha.

Just wonderin' - Do you ever say "Bless your heart" or "Bless her heart" in a nice way? Or if I hear "Bless your heart" should I be insulted every time????

Yes it does get used in a nice way. Usually to express concern. When you feel bad that someone is sick, you might say "Oh that's sad , bless his heart." Tone of voice has a lot to do with the sincerity of the remark. It is what usually designates sarcasm or genuine concern.

Especially if the "bless her heart" is followed by a "but..........". Yep.....TXM is right....you can tell.....sarcasm is usually involved!

Well, bless your Texas hearts for enlightening us. In "Minnesota nice" we say, "Oh, how interesting." (while inside you're thinking, "eww, that's ugly" or " how dumb"...)

It is so funny how each area has their own way of saying "Well bless your heart". If nothing else, we know sarcasm is universal. Now isn't that special?
