| I have some rather strange stuff happening with my machine today.
I got my coworker's baby quilt all basted and was ready to start machine quilting it. I was able to start ok, but quickly lost power, even though the light was on. Everything was plugged in and no other major issues I could see. Tried again and I got a little further, but I had to push the pedal all the way down....which required a bit too much effort for my still-healing right foot and forced me to switch the pedal to the left. I finally finished the one line and called it quits--too afraid I'd continue to have this problem today!
The thing that gets me is my machine was JUST in for a tune up! Isn't think the kind of thing they should have found then?
Any ideas on what's wrong with my machine? I'm considering taking my pedal in to the local shop after work tomorrow.

| If the machine is working, it does sound like it is the pedal. I t could have a broke wire. It wouldn't show under the outer insulation. (I am guessing you wiggled the connecter to see if that was bad?) You may have to take it in. Maybe they have another pedal that fits and can determine if it is the machine or just the pedal.
Sorry, nothing more frustrating than wanting to sew and having problems. _________________ TxMaryQuilts

| Take the whole machine. If they have a spare pedal, y'all can test it. If not, they can see what it does/doesn't do on yours. _________________ TxMaryQuilts

| I agree. Look at the cord first. Sometimes there is an "open" where a furbaby (or . in my case, a feathered former baby) chomped on the cord. A temporary fix can be done with electrical tape. | |

| Well, took it in and my problem was diagnosed in about two minutes.....who had their money on user error? Somehow, the bobbin winder got switched to the on position, which messed up my pedal. It worked fine in the store once she noticed that. I'm not even sure HOW that happened to begin with since I quit using that thing because it wasn't working and I got one of the sidewinders instead!
Hopefully, that's all it was!

| Yeah, they probably switched it or just hit it when handling the machine. Thank goodness you didn't have to buy any parts. _________________ TxMaryQuilts
