| That is wonderful. You will have a lot of fun with that. Where did you get all this from. Is it going to one charity or several? _________________ TxMaryQuilts

| I belong to a fibre guild and asked if people had scraps I could use to make quilts, any size would do. WELL you know what happened then...............I make the quilts for the poor, needy, new babies, sick and poor babies and sick kids, vets whom ever I can find. I make the quilts and then I put our feelers and ask different organizations if I would give them would they accept them.......... Now I have to start thinking ahead of the game to see what patterns I will use, these are going to be multicolored for sure!
I am so sure my hubby paid these folks to keep me busy. Last weekend I tore apart the main bath, it is sitting in my sewing room. Then I plastered the walls and asked DH top do the upper bits that I am too short to reach, Yesterday I sanded all but the ceiling, Today DH did that , tomorrow is the last inspection before I paint on Thursday and Friday. It will then be put back together new fawcets, tub taps, lighting paint and trim..
Luckily most is in excellent shape it is a priss up after having wallpaper for 25 years, Yep DH is in hiding this weekend I am sure............................He can hardly wait for me to get back to sewing and give him a break!

| Yes that would be wonderful if any one would like to send scrappy pattern ideas. I am looking for something interesting but with all this fabric we will see if you can find me. My hubby emailed me a link of a NASA astronaut who is taking her quilting to the moon. Think he has a new sewing room for me in mind?? My guild that "donated" all this fabric has 30 members and 12 gave me scraps . they are just not ordinary scraps, Some are too pretty to cut, but I will find the gumption! I received 8 large green bags and 4 computer paper boxes full of cottons. Some flowered, some are tropical fish. aligators, others are bright solids with glow in the dark stars. I am not sure I will ever get out of my room. BUT I can't start anything till next week
Tomorrow the bathroom painting begins. oh how i hate to paint, BUT I hate to pay someone more for the simple good, HAHA The worst part is to do the sanding and plastering. The wallpaper was on for so long that it dried out the sheetrock tape so that is why the added plastering. The best news is the ceramic tiling I did over 30 years ago is in great shape and staying!!
Sewing time will come soon again and on my new quilting machine - my 17" bailey, YAHOO

| Have fun with your bathroom, dont forget, you can come help me with mine when you are done! Fabric sounds wonderful, sounds like a lot of simple 4 or 9 patch blocks might be the answer, feature all teh fun fabrics and be fast to make, thats a lot of fabric to get through. _________________ "My will is mine.....I shall not make it soft for you" Aeschylus, Agamemnon

| By gosh I think you are correct let the fabric do the talking instead of the pattern. I hope to do 15 quilt tops ( full sized ) by Xmas and then relaz while I regroup!~
Ohhh I have never been to Australia but I have a cousin who is a Dean at U of Adelaide............Hmm maybe she will take me in................. Then again I think I am in too much mischief to travel right now!!!!
Laundry set arrived yesterday and that area is all clean and prissed. Tomorrow i will be slapping paint and hope not too much on me!! No outside work for me we are still flooded!

| Warm Wishes is one of my fav patterns. Since you can make the solid squares pretty much any size you want, you can have it show off the fabric nicely. _________________ TxMaryQuilts

| Ladies have I told you how much I appreciate your hints, tips and input. Thank you soo much
Note to Gimpy cat. I managed to get two coast of paint on the walls and ceiling, washed the house hold floors, since I was all sweaty and paintfilled anyway, and into the shower ( all by 11:30 am and I started at 8:00 am). Well unknowingly to me hubby had invited lunch guests and here I am in the shower He calls into the shower " Guests are here". There I am in the buff, trying to figure out if he has closed the bedroom door, so I could scamper across the room and get clothes. Our bedroom is adjacent to the front house door, so if you plan to scamper anywhere in the house you hope your guests are not standing there or they will be entertained! The coast was clear, I now have clothes, hair dried and fluffed and a nice outfit that matches.
Of course I did not have anything prepared for the guests and I mentioned to them today was their day and we would test out the new neighborhood restaurant! It was a success............... Now tomorrow back to the drawing board to redress the room, add all new fixtures and little fixits.
Boy I need a holiday! | |

| An Ivory tusk, hubby wanted a light color and the wall tiles are a light mocha with a daisy on alternate tiles, so we wanted something that would compliment. The bath had some wonderful pink ribbon vinyl wallpaper but it was starting to look worn, I yanked it off. The new color matches the tub and toilet I did not know that I was matching them, we just liked the color on the card as I entered the paint store. There you go ..................
Yep Hubby is still alive, he has to be - gotta dress the bathroom tomorrow, new moldings, door handles, lights, towel bars and he is repainting the baseboard heater and the fan grill. Have to restore all the cabinets and vanity. Should be all set and maybe I will allow the guests to use it!

| Lowjane, that certainly sounds like a daunting goal, 15 quilt tops. Good luck!! I have never heard of Warm Wishes but I will look it up. I am doing a Crackers top and it is totally scraps which I love but it seems rather slow to piece because of matching similar colors in each block. I just work on it when I get some scraps cut for it. I just use left overs from other projects. | |

On the other hand I am sorting out flannel to play with at the crack of dawn, Let's get this show on the road!

| Sorry, gotta admit I giggled at your "scampering" dilemma. DHs don't think too good sometimes. Really nice save with the restuarant. I would of been so frazzled I wouldn't have come up with anything as gracious as that to say.
Glad your bathroom is done. _________________ TxMaryQuilts

| Today I spent the day fighting with the long arm , tried a new thread threw the whole tension out, finally 3 hours later I find the factory setting, by tweaking, Then the speed control blew up, turns out it is just a dimmer switch in camouflague, now we have no dimmer switch on our light in the hallway but my longarm is purring!! That is a hubby who knows what priorities are- most of the time. Great save he goes into surgery tomorrow! | |

| The only time mine look great is when I use the 5 minute block method and then they are bang on. Takes a little more fabric but the results are in the "pudding". I posted the fabric on my gallery and I am thinking maybe a cream back ground, appliqued floral design? Why not make it more complicated than I have to?? This will be quilt #13 since May 1.. No wonder I am brain dead | |

| It is far too hot to quilt and very muggy going to be 45C today with the humidity so I am switching modes. Out comes the embroidery machine and I am making labels for the last 2 quilts, then I am packing them up and shipping them off
The creative ideas are rambling around the old noggin
