| I love your Teddy bear pattern it is adorable!
The other quilts are lovely and your quilting really compliments them, are you now finding less time to make your own quilts? was the LAQ worth your investment? do you get lots of business?

| Somehow missed these pics...oh my what eye candy! Lovely...thanks for sharing. Your quilting is the perfect compliment for the quilts. Love the Aussie one....I have a collection of Aussie fabric DH brought me during his time there. Dying to do one....that will light a fire under me! | |

The other quilts are lovely and your quilting really compliments them, are you now finding less time to make your own quilts? was the LAQ worth your investment? do you get lots of business? I don't find that I lack time for making my own tops...how ever, I don't seem to get them quilted up like I thought I would.. When I decided to purchase a longarm I did ALOT of research as to what would meet my needs. Since I had rented time on a couple of longarms, I knew what I wanted. I was able to purchase my longarm used and that saved me alot of money! the downside of that is I had a learning curve on the maintenance of the machine. I get as much business as I want in quilting for others. I never wanted to be full time quilting, just enough to support my fabric/supplies/gadget/thread addiction. I did get enough business to pay off my machine in 8 months, which was nice to know. I don't charge alot to quilt for others and have about a 2 week turn around time. This helps the ladies get their tops finished. So many longarm quilters charge themselves out of business, a person really needs to charge according to what your area will support. With the fabric prices skyrocketing, it is hard for a quilter to pay big bucks for quilting too. Off course I only do pantograph quilting (edge to edge) as I found the custom part of quilting took way too much time and most of the gals were not interested in paying the extra money for custom work. Although there are some quilts that really need the custom work to make them sparkle...these ladies I refer to a couple of other quilters I know that do good work. I have over 350 designs I can pick from, something for everyone...that really helps getting a design that will compliment the top.

| Looking good Mamu. Looks like you are going to have to start double checking the backing before you load them. I even do that to my own now. I got caught with a short one a while back. It is a hassle, I totally agree.
You do really good work. I love seeing your pictures. _________________ TxMaryQuilts

| Oh wow, they are all brilliant, is the over the river one printed panels or embroidered? I love the layout and design. The pink and gold is different, the one for the veteran is beautiful. Mum would love the Kaffe and the one that was short backing, I bet there was some cussing when you discovered that, sounds like you handled it well and made it work, you deserve a The table cloth one, wow, I guess mum uses some of hers as table clothes but she puts a big sheet of clear plastic over them to protect them, sure is striking and why not have quilts everywhere! You are doing an awesome job, that all your work is freehand is amazing, some of your patterns are so intricate and dense, everything you choose suits the quilt just right, well done Mamu _________________ "My will is mine.....I shall not make it soft for you" Aeschylus, Agamemnon

| Really beautiful work you have done, Mamu! I used the tablecloth pattern to make an LSU football quilt for DH, but it's hanging on a quilt rack, not on the table. | |

| Mamu, the quilting on those is just gorgeous. And the quilts are beautiful too. You are very talented indeed. When I do alterations for people I don't charge that much either. I agree with you on that one. You have to charge according to your area. |

| Beautiful work, Mamu. I love the idea of a quilt table cloth. Wouldn't want to ever have it on while eating though. However, it would be a lovely piece to view. But as I turn around a look at all the stuff on my dining table, I'm thinking, it additionally would maybe help me pick up my stuff more. | |

| here are some pictures of some quilts that I quilted for others... This quilt Carol made at one of our May Retreats I quilted butterflies on it This quilt was made by a beginner quilter and is the largest quilt that she has made. She will be sending it off as a wedding gift. I had a scroll pattern that matched one of the prints she used, so that is what I quilted on it I loved this quilt...all done in Christmas prints in the Twist pattern, it was a large quilt too! She asked for Holly Berries for the quilting I just finished this quilt...it was huge. She made it for her grand daughter who is graduating this spring. She wanted a flower design on it...so I found one that matched one of the lavender prints | |
