I have a Bernina Deco 340...the reason is that it takes the Bernina cards as well as USB designs. I think there are others out there that take CD and USB designs. I would look into getting one that will take that as you are not limited then.

I have never been in the market for one but if I were, I would look for ease of use, compatability and durability. I would want to try several first.

Buy only an embroidery machine... mine is connected with my Bernina and I have yet to use it because I would rather be quilting...
