I live in the western mountains of California in a tiny town where I moved after being disabled from the job. My new neighbor immediately informed me that I had become a quilter. 500 quilts later, here I am.

Hi Rivergal

Well I have to tell you, you just made my day, popping on here and seeing your post, sure made me smile. Its not often a new member stops to say hello and we get very excited when one does so consider yourself one of the gang now Thumbup Thank you for introducing yourself, it really means a lot to us all here, we love to meet a new friend.

I live in Australia too, have a daughter in school about to turn 9, hubby He is fabric purchaser on here) is teaching high school and my mum has moved down from the mainland to live with us. She will be building her own self contained granny flat shortly. We love animals and nature, being outdoors. I grow fruit and veges and preserve lots of it and love to cook, read and quilt (which seems to get less time than anything else at the moment)

I spent some time in Missouri when I was in the states, St Louis, Poplar Bluff, Springfield, Branson (my cousins dragged me up there) and round about. I loved the Ozark Mts, spent some magical time horse riding through the dogwood forests. Oh and I still miss Ozark Black Walnut ice cream yum

If you need any help finding your way around, just let us know, you are welcome to send a private message for help or just ask on the forum, everyone is so helpful. Im so glad you found us

Hi RiverGal....glad you have joined us! Jump right in....we are a chatty bunch!

I've been sewing since the 6th grade, but started quilting maybe ten years ago. And yes, I am a fabriholic!

Welcome Rivergal. With your joining in I won't be the newbie any more!
I am a mother of 2 grammy of 2 girls and a dog. I started sewing by 13 and a few years ago took up piecing quilts as therapy for a hand injury. I'm pretty much a novice but accepted here as one of the Gals.
Please share pics, what you are working on, what you plan to do. We love to share!!Newbie 4028768362

Well, well.... so glad to hear/see a new face!
My online name is Mamu....but some call me BMW (burley mountain woman) and I live in NW Montana. I have five horses, of which I post info on alot....three drafts and two Qtr horses...they always keep me entertained. I also have five cats, two that I got last August...they are a hoot. AND three dogs...one of which I just got and have posted pictures of her here... Chewie.
I am a retired 911 operator and my husband is an iron worker that is on the road alot building large multiple level buildings, airline hangers, warehouse distribution centers, pretty much anything that requires iron structure. So, that means I am here alone keeping the fort, herding animals and dodging wildlife...bears, wolves, skunks, raccoons, mountain lions and such.
I also have a long arm quilting machine that helps keep me busy...as if all of the above wouldn't... Thud
Glad to see you here and hope to learn more about you and things you like to do.
