| We adults can really over think things. I try to mail a goodie to my DGD's from time to time. I hate to shop so don't mail as often as I would like. Then it hit me this week. Why am I doing this? Not to give them any great gift but just the joy of receiving and opening an envelope. Remember those days when we were little? So I printed out a coloring page from the internet, found a pretty envelope and blank card with a pretty picture and mailed one to each child with a short note of love. Their mother called to tell me how excited they were. I am a happy Grammy. So what makes you smile? Besides the little story I just related, let me start. I LOVE to hear a toddler giggle. Not belly laugh, giggle. And giggle and giggle at something really silly. | |

| Right now, the little rabbits chasing one another and running to my sewing room window in the evening knowing I'll have an apple chopped all up for them. They are so funny and sweet. | |

| Sitting out on my screened porch listening to the water lap onto the shore at dusk. I have fallen asleep out there twice....woke up in the middle of the night lol.
My builder's son and daughter this afternoon when they came over for a promised ride on our jet skis....when they got off and ran to tell their mom about it. The builder took his son and I took his daughter.
Anything having to do with cats playing.

| Dogs make me smile . Love the doggies. When I am feeling down I only have to look at pictures of dogs on Pinterest to make me feel happy. |

| My kids asking me for cooking advice. Some of the questions really strike me as funny. An example - Bratt asking me what salad oil is. I told her in the olden days folks made their own salad dressings. Told her it was veg. Or canola oil.
My youngest DS has the regular question - What's for dinner,Mom? That too brings a smile.

| Every time we come into our lovely little valley. When I am working on something and DH comes up and says it's time for him to rub my shoulders. When I sit down and my animals come to "check" on me. | |

| Gotta make some time for smiles. My DH makes me giggle with some of his observations. I smile everytime he comes in the room.
My coworker Vivian makes me laugh out loud all day. We've known each other for 19 years now, we each had four teenagers when I moved here. She's as fickle as the wind but everyone loves to be around her.
My SIL used to call to ask cooking advice, now he's a better cook than me. He cooks to impress me when I visit, so I'm smiling through dinner. _________________ If you can't be a hero, be an inspiration.

| I definitely smile at the thought of the friendship Memaw and I have. And I always laugh when we're talking on the phone or when we're together.
My sons make me smile. Both have a great sense of humor and we laugh together.
My DGC, oh everything about them makes me smile. When I arrive at their house, or when they come here, all three come running with squeals of "grandma, grandma" and I could just cry!
My dog Haley makes me smile, and any puppy. I have always loved animals, especially dogs.

| When Anita mom and I chat and she has her computer start talking Mexican. Since my brother put spell check on her instant messenger, we get some pretty creative translations.
I am working on a project making photobooks for everyone for Christmas. I'm still in the scanning stuff in stage, but I love that some of these old pictures make me smile. I never realized Blue Bunny got around as much as he did! The books are going to be personalized Grandma (and Grandpa) and me themed ones, as a sort of memory project to honor Grandma.

| Oh Bratt, I think that's a wonderful thing to do in memory of your grandmother. I'm sure your brothers and sisters will be very happy with their gifts. That's very thoughtful of you. |
