| I have been swapping blocks and strips and have been able to make a couple of great scrappy quilts because of it. I found Bonnie hunters site and have done a couple of her quilts they are perfect for doing this.
I have also been trying to cut into my fq's and make very scrappy quilts as well, I have to sit and figure out how to post pictures on this site and see if I can get some posted.
Love scrappy more and more.

| I have really enjoyed all the scrap quilts I have made over the last two years. Have made so many scrap ones that I am ready to do a regular pattern or two. Funny thing is, still have scraps! _________________ TxMaryQuilts

| I was paging thru an old quilting mag yesterday I think mayby 1990ish? and found a pattern for string tulip pattern I thought would be good to tackle that scrap basket. I will see if I can copy and post sometime. | |

| quiltingboard.com has a thread on scrappy quilts. Last I checked it was 211 pages long with lots of fabulous scrappy quilts. I posted a scrappy set of houses, but butterflies, flowers are a good use of scraps. I just posted a bunch of my scrappy quilts. If you expand the subject to include swaps, like our blue and white one a couple of years ago, the subject is limitless. My Joyous Waves uses one 10' strip or FQ of each color. Many patterns are traditionally done with scraps, such as Apple Core and Dresden Plate. I used scraps for my Hearts quilt and my Girls with Flowers. One of my favs is called vestibule or square cross I call it corner square. I just saw a lovely one of these with dark blue stars, including the cornerstones. Lots of string piecing patterns work well This is a block pattern I enjoy. https://www.quilterslastresort.com/gallery/Personal-album-of-quiltermarynel/My-modified-Dresden-pic_4071.htmMug rugs and potholders are a good use for scraps. I also like to use a central theme pieces with scraps around them.

Funny thing is, still have scraps! Maybe you need to impose a fishing rule upon your scraps? When fishing, fish have to be a minimum size to be kept, you need to decide on a legal scrap size and then anything under that must be tossed And no, 1/2" is way way too small so think bigger
