PostSubject: Design Help   Design Help EmptyTue Sep 09, 2014 3:36 pm

I found a darling table runner on line and there is an element of it that I would like to incorporate into a border. However in the table runner, it is part of another block. I just want the aqua twisted ribbon part. But my brain can't seem to pick out how to do it since I want it in a straight line for a border. Can someone help? Or do you know of directions for a border that looks like this? Thanks

This is the ink to the directions.

This site has many border patterns and it has one for your twisted ribbon!

Thanks Memaw. I didn't know they had border patterns. Never thought to look there.

It is very similar. A little shorter between the "twists". Am I thinking right in that a solid block in between would make the ribbon longer between twists?
Hmmm, have to try that block. Wonder if I can get my points right.

Actually I cheated...... I googled "twisted ribbon borders."

Perhaps you could add a little more between the twist?

I love that site.   They seem to have lots to choose from don't they?

Yeah, they have tons on that site. I always go to the blocks and never realized they had added borders. That will be handy when I want to do something different. Thanks.

Thanks MN. Those are very handy because they show the corners. I am printing it out for reference. I like the spear in the corner of the top one. Makes a dramatic corner.

I agree.   If you stand back and look at the other one, it just looks off.   Like there's something wrong with it.  Just not balanced..... JMHO

But then neither am I ...... lol! lmao

TxM - so glad you're getting assistance with this. I looked at it before you had any replies. As much as I'd like to be a helper,  I personally felt clueless. ( :

think of all the fabric you could buy, even at those Aussie fabric prices. Cheesy
Quilt Pro insists on putting in places for corners on border designs, so I tend to thin in that direction.

Love that table runner pattern. I would have gone to quilters cache too. I have used their border patterns. They are great.
