I can't decide Empty
PostSubject: I can't decide   I can't decide EmptySun Oct 12, 2014 1:17 pm

Well, what else is new! I'm making a valance to go with a quilt I made for DGD. Didn't think to take a picture of it, so can't share. The fabric line is out of production, so have limitations of choosing colors for the valance as these are the ones I can get enough yardage. It's actually two windows in the corner of the room. They each are 41 inches wide.

Here are the three choices:

Any thoughts?

Are all three of these fabrics in the quilt?

Yes. The quilt is a jelly roll race quilt and was made using a jelly roll plus some fabrics I added because I was making the quilt larger. It's twin size rather than the throw size. There are 2 inch squares between each strip and they are grey. The room is painted a light grey.

How old is she? You said her room is pale grey but my choice I think would depend on age, if young Id think of the 3rd one, the pink with numbers, if a young teen I might go the yellow and an older teen the 2nd one, the grey with numbers, is that any help? Does she have pillow cases to compliment the quilt or go with it, what colour are they predominantly?

She's just 2 so she's not the deciding factor. The room is grey which is a weird color but they just built the house. If they painted the entire house all one color it was really cheap to have the builder paint it. It was more important to paint the main rooms the color they wanted.

For a 2yr old little girl, Id choose #3, the pink background with numbers, bring some warmth to her room and some girliness. I think Id make a couple of little pillow cases or a pillow in the same fabric to bring it all together. Perhaps you could even make a couple of curtain tie backs depending on what colour her curtains were so it all blended nicely? Just some thoughts, eager to see what you choose and what others think

I vote pink also and like Helen's idea to make pillows/accents to bring it out into the room. Might have been my monitor but really did not like the yellow at all.

Pillows shaped like some letters or numbers would be really cute. Her initial maybe?

Given her age, I say either pink or yellow. Gray is too boring! It needs some color.
