| Mine wasn't difficult. I used paper as my foundations. I just sewed on the lines, trimmed and set the blocks together. I haven't quilted it yet..I'm waiting for cooler weather. I want to hand quilt because the fabrics are indigos, double pinks, shirting and maroon. All repro fabrics. It will look more like an antique once the quilting is done. |

- FB..I don't like my string quilt. I shouldn't have used any off white in the strings?
:peek: It sure looks fine to me. You're just too up-close-and-personal with it. Us normals who see it allow our eyes to trick our brain into not seeing the light strips; we fill in the 'gaps' in the color without even thinking of it.
It truly is a wonderful quilt. _________________ Perfection is the enemy of progress

| LOL FB! To us crazy people the white looks like gaps/breaks in the design. It would have been stronger without those to me? |

| Both the string quilts are beautiful!! Paws, you do good work when you are chained to your machine!! Perhaps you need to do the other foot so that you can make one for me! I agree with you about the binding--such a tedious job that seems to take forever--at least it takes me many, many hours to do the binding on a bedsized quilt.
And Finisher, your quilt is lovely--I do like the turquoise border. The orange peel design (at least, that is what it would be called if it were a weaving pattern) sets off the diagonal of the strings quite nicely.
Ah, so much I would like to do, so little time!!

| Carolyn, you could have your other foot done . That does tend to keep you in limited spots. |

| Paws...your quilt is beautiful! Love your colors!
Finisher...I love yours too! I've never seen one done in that setting. Very nice.
I am fairly new to the strings-thing! I have joined two swaps (on other board) which I really enjoyed. The first one, I made into a quilt for my son. The second is still waiting on me to do something with! I need to make more blocks for that one however. | |

| I like Paws's best! I just love her fabrics. They are so warm looking I swear the more I see..the more I want to do! Karol..how were your blocks done? I think they are a great way to use scraps..and I just love having so many fabrics in a quilt. |
