| Those are some neat patterns. I like the twisted block and the Harry Potter Blocks. some one worked hard on those. _________________ TxMaryQuilts

| I have a question about PPing and not knowing where to ask it, I will just as it here. I did a very nice job on a pp block, black and white...came out very nice, but I printed off my pping templates and when all finished with the block I sprayed it with just water, then tried to remove the foundation paper under it. Turned my block over to look at it and found that the ink ran into the seams and seeped out into the fabric. I quickly went and washed it out. Well almost all of it came out. The thing is I didn't read anywhere that the ink would run...and ruin my project! How do you all remove your foundation paper, or do you? | |

| Hi Schnookie,
I don't wet my paper. I gently tear it away with my one finger on the stitching so that it doesn't pull the stitches. If there is a tiny piece of paper anywhere I use my tweezers to take it out.
Hope this helps. |

| Snookie, I don't wet mine either. I crease it well along the sewn line and then like Quilton I hold one finger on the crease and tear with the other hand. I use the tweezers too for little pieces. | |

| Make your stitching smaller and use a bigger needle... makes for easy ripping... | |

| I do mine the same as the others have said. I've never wet the paper. |

| All good hints...I don't know why I am really asking about this, I think I have pretty much giving up on PPings it just poses one thing after another for me. OH, all right I guess I just might have to try it once more. Well slap me and knock me on the head and make me sit up right and try once again will you! Just maybe I will have a good experience doing this PPing stuff if I keep trying and get the how to dos! Thanks for the input everyone! :flower: | |

| Schnookie....I find with PP'ing that if i'm struggling just turn the fabric in the direction that you least likley think will work Also, I treat myself to Carol Doaks Paper Piecing Paper, its very thin. Its expensive but I use all the scraps as my leaders and enders. I prefer using it to strips of fabric cause I can just throw it under the foot and not worry if i'm sewing it to the fabric i'm working on. | |

| Thats a site I love Annie......I treated myself to this small can of disapearing adhesive by Sulky at Joanns black friday sale. Yesterday I was doing a pp block and it really came in handy. Now to see if it truly does disapear as advertised in two to five days. | |

| Be sure to let us know about the spray Chris. There's nothing better than a tested product review. Did you find that it went where you wanted it without a lot of over spray? |

| I'd say 50/50 on overspray, but I tried to use is very sparingly. I'm anxious to see if it disapears as promised, otherwise I'm not sure I would use it. I'm going to need to clean my iron for sure, unless since this afternoon it has gotten un sticky. I'll keep you posted. | |

Thanks for the input everyone! :flower: Slap and knock on head. I made the same ornament 4 times and it still didn't turn out. Rather annoying. I'll try again though. I've made several PP items and they turned out. This is just being a stinker. I too do not wet the paper. I took a class in pp'ing and we were taught to fold along each of the lines and crease well. Using a pencil or a letter opener works well for that. I use a small stitch too. I also hold the stitch with my thumb while tearing the paper. Works great every time. Here is the link to the website of the woman who taught our PP class. I always feel honored when I can take a class taught by the designer herself. http://www.mhquiltdesigns.com/ | |
