Not sure if any of our members have and use embroidery machines. I want a quilt square made of an outline of the U.S. including Alaska and Hawaii. After it's done I will be adding a tiny star or circle or something to show which states and cities my son has been stationed. It will be added to the other duplicate blocks from the family quilt.

So here are the details:
16" square bleached muslin
10" wide motif

Anyone interested please ask questions and give me an idea of charge.
Thanks

Sewn, I know TexasMusicMom does that kind of embroidery, as does Hummerlou, you could contact them via pm. Not sure who else does it but I know they both do, good luck

I wonder if you contacted a store that sells does classes with those machines if they would do a block for you? Just a thought

My machine does not do motifs that large...my largest hoop is a 5 by 7. Maybe Lou's machine can do that. Wish I could help!!!

Gimpy the only store in my area is run by a woman who has trash talked and gypped a lot of women who are/were her customers. She does beautiful work. I would choke on the fabric first. But that was a really good suggestion. I am starting here first to see if someone is interested. If not I will contact a couple of women in the community sewing group that can probably do it. I will be asking them last as they are piled up with a couple of retreats and other projects at the moment.

You might find someone online who does it, like LA quiilters offer their services, wishing you luck

I think the size of the motif might be a problem as the machines are limited by the hoop sizes. If you are just wanting an outline of the US, could you maybe embroider it by hand? A size 8 or 5 thread would give a nice heavy outline that would show up well. I do not know if your hand will allow you to do that?

I was thinking the same about size. Hand embroider is an option I am holding for last as I will be adding details to the map outline. I am giving a couple people locally opportunity to figure something out then will rethink my design.

😀. Thanks!
