I just got my fabrics from Connecting thread... they are pretty nice... will make up a nice quilt for a guy.... lots of choc, brown, rust and tans...

I went shopping again but I did remember to use the code/coupon for the discount!

I got an email late last nite from Fons & Porter saying they had 200 items on sale for a Spring sale. Went there- put 3 kits in a shopping cart, then saw a little note that said the pattern was not included with most kits - yu had to get it from the magazine listed. So back I go to order the back issues & guess what - 2 of the 3 are no longer available!!! So I went to bed mad. What a rotten way to run a business.

I just hate it when you find a kit you want and then find out they are not including the pattern Why do the call it a "KIT" if it isn't complete?????? ARRGGH

Well phooey! I don't know how their prices were Buzzy'sMa? If there is something you really want you could post it here. I have doubles of a lot of magazines because I bought a big box of them at a garage sale last Summer. I'd be willing to send you the issue if I have it.
That is a poor way to do business though.

When I bought the quilt kit from Hancock's it didn't say if the pattern was included so I ordered it separately. It was included so they they canceled the pattern from my order..which I thought was nice.

That's the other thing - the 200 items were to be 25% off but when I went looking for the magazines I looked at the regular kits & the 3 I had set aside were marked the same price there as in the sale section so I have no idea if they were really 25% off.

So thanks Golo & AO for the pattern offers, but I'm not going to order - it's the principle of the thing - I'll spend my money elsewhere.

I run into that all the time.....I wish these vendors would just charge a fair price for the product..sales...coupons....mark it up then put it on sale....its difficult enough to shop!!

I just found a new to me online shop and I can't believe their prices! AND they let you order 1/2yds. Usually if something is discounted that much they insist you get at least a yard. It's

I bought 30 yds of fabric today...posted pics on our sister site...washing them now...even had DH petting them!!

I kept it conservative..only around $50...there. ;) earlier in the day DH took me for a nice ride to the Door Mouse. They have SO much fabric they have bolts stacked in front of the shelves of fabrics. Their prices have gone up since I was there about 2 years ago. They are mostly $9yd. I bought 1/4yd cuts of some of their Civil war type fabrics. I tried to keep it conservative..because their prices were high, and my budget was small. For the first time EVER DH was helping me look for fabrics to go with an odd shade of green I have. He liked helping!..but he did say he wished he had brought his fishing pole because there was a creek alongside of the quilt shop. LOL After I got home I looked online for some of the fabrics I got there to see if I could get a better price..that's how I found whittlesfabrics.

LOL..CC on the long ride home I kept peeking in the bag and stroking the fabrics..and couldn't believe it was real that I could have them..AND DH was nice all day! A girl needs a day like that once in a while!

I did end up buying a 108 wide back for a quilt back at 5.99 a yard..cant beat that. We had a discussion about the brands that they have there as to not being top of the line.
The fabric that i got is along the lines in quality of some of the better fabrics at Joanns or Walmart...I'm quite pleased, I already washed it.plus no shipping charges after 25.00. The order was prompt and came with a sample of something else at my request, and also a little gifty. So to whomever posted the link...thanks they seem like a good shop
