Thanks TMM.

I sometimes have trouble peeling the paper from small applique pieces and end up ruffling the edges a bit. So I have started peeling the paper back a bit before I start cutting it out. Just peel it loose past your cutting line and then hold the layers together and cut it out. It is so easy to find the loose edge, peel off the paper, and not ruffle your edges.

A very simple solution that took me years to figure out. Thud Hope it helps others.
P.S. I have started doing it with all my pieces, no matter the size.

Oh good thinking, I usually use a fine pin or needle to lift the centre of the paper then work it out but I like your idea better!!

TxM Good tip!
I have found that when I fuse and then leave it over night I can bend a corner and it pops right off!

I wonder if you popped the piece in the freezer if that would make it separate easier?

That could work! I'll try it next time I fuse unless someone does it first!

Are you familiar with the Kwik Klip?

https://www.amazon.com/Paula-Jean-Creations-Brass-Brown/dp/B0016IZIJI/ref=sr_1_5?crid=1R18M0WNITXX0&keywords=kwik+klip+safety+pin+tool&qid=1585018550&sprefix=kwik+klip%2Caps%2C180&sr=8-5

It's used to close & open quilting safety pins when you are sandwiching a quilt. Saves on sore fingers & broken nails. I read yesterday that Paula Jean is retiring & the tool will no longer be manufactured or sold. I'm going to buy an extra - can't live without it!
