| I found a product that might just be the answer some of you need......it's a fusible powder, not aerosol! No fumes, no over spray, good reviews. It's called Free Fuse from Quilter's Select. Next time I place an order somewhere that carries it I am going to try some out. Just wanted to let y'all know. https://sewcreativecottage.com/p/QS-FF2OZ/quilters-select-free-fuse-powder.html(reviews at the bottom) _________________ TxMaryQuilts

| Oh wow, that would be so good for someone like me as the aerosoles are so toxic, I wonder if there are stinky fumes when you apply heat? I wonder how much you can fuse with one container? Cant wait to hear what you think of it _________________ "My will is mine.....I shall not make it soft for you" Aeschylus, Agamemnon

| I've never heard of this stuff! I don't use the spray quilt basting stuff because it's too much fumes. Wonder if you can use the powder and then not have to pin the quilt. | |

| Yes Jenn, it is a temporary fusible so you do not have to pin. Linda I am going to look up the other brand. I didn't know there was another one. Thanks for info. I looked up the BoNash brand and Linda is right, it is cheaper, by more than a little! Always worth sharing info on here, never know what someone else will share! _________________ TxMaryQuilts

| It does look pretty cool! BUT... I'm one of the (few?) people who have no problem with the spray stuff. I prefer Sullivan's in the pink can ($17.00); it works well and doesn't gum up my needle. For months now I've had How to Make Elmer's Glue Spray pinned. Based upon the number of quilts I have to baste and quilt this is something I need to try. Although I can baste a lot of quilts from a can of spray (again, ), the Elmer's spray might be a good alternative for my needs. BUT #2... Doing any kind of spraying is always an adventure with me, since I always do it outside and we live in a windy part of the world. Being able to sprinkle is definitely an attractive idea. _________________ Perfection is the enemy of progress

| I have the same problem FB, I have to do it outside (due to the fumes) and its a windy island down here, makes it hard and rare to find a still day, I end up wrestling the damn quilt and spray
Linda, does it smell when you iron it? _________________ "My will is mine.....I shall not make it soft for you" Aeschylus, Agamemnon

I just ordered a can so I will let you know if it has an odor. If it triggers me it will be a definite no for you. _________________ TxMaryQuilts

| Look forward to hearing, thanks for being a test bunny TxMary!! Golo once sent me a Bonash oven iron cleaner packet of sheets, they are the best damn things ever, I have one left and I keep looking at my grotty iron and thinking "nah, it can wait a bit longer till I clean it" _________________ "My will is mine.....I shall not make it soft for you" Aeschylus, Agamemnon

| Im guessing you mean iron cleaner sheets. I need to check if I need to clean my iron. Should have done it when I changes my board cover.
They do have a cleaner for stove tops etc that gets good reviews. I might try it if this powder works as good as it says. They also have an oven sheild spray that is supposed to make it easy to just wipe grime out of your oven. If that worked that would be great since we roast a lot of foods and the chicken always makes a mess. Have that on my radar too. Not too expensive so wouldn't hurt to try it sometime. _________________ TxMaryQuilts

| Iron, yup I meant iron (I had just sprayed the inside of the oven door down with shower cleaner, citrus based stuff I can use and discovered works well on grease elsewhere like the stainless steel oven) and so typed oven, not iron. The iron cleaner is awesome, I need to look and see if anyone is bringing it in and selling it here or maybe amazon has it _________________ "My will is mine.....I shall not make it soft for you" Aeschylus, Agamemnon

| TxM Thanks! I'm gonna have to look at that over spray! My oven is always a mess but I don't like using the auto clean in the summer. It heats the kitchen up which is already bad enough!
Gimpy I have some of those iron cleaners. They are great! Like you I try to use them sparingly! | |

| So I got my stuff from Bonash. The Astonish oven/cookware cleaner is still available but the spray that was supposed to help keep the oven clean is what was not available anymore. Out of curiosity I went to the website to see if they took it down and they did. They also added a lot of products to their website. It looked very different from the last time I went there.
Haven't tried the powder yet. _________________ TxMaryQuilts
