I have been offered a used serger. Brother 1034D. I've found good reviews on line but wonder if anyone has one. I don't even know enough to ask intelligent questions. The lady that has it is making sure it's working and having it serviced prior to giving to me. (If i want it).

Sewn I have never used a serger but if it works, and you have need of one, it doesn't seem as if you have anything to lose with getting this one. The price is right!

Well there is some risk involved. It's in Florida. I'm in Ohio. I've heard so many sad horror stories about shippers damaging sewing machines that I hesitate to pay shipping on something.

Im sure it could be boxed and packed well to protect it Sewn. Mum gave me hers and its in the garage, Ive never used it in the two years since she gave it to me. I have used one twice in my life and have to admit they are really handy for stretchy materials and doing edges on things. I need to get it out at some stage, its not something I could buy but I think they can be handy. I suspect its just a case of getting used to having and using one - sorry, thats not much help is it?

Ah, didn't know it was being shipped. Guess the first thing to do is find out how much the postage would be. Might be cheaper to buy. Shocked

So some risk but if she is willing to pack the heck out of it and you pay insurance, maybe still worth it.

I should hear in a day or 2 if it's a working machine. Think I'm probably going to take the risk if it's in working condition.
