I noticed that there was alot of questions about 'what type of thread' to use for various projects. So, I thought I would put in some info on threads that I have found interesting and beneficial.

Most sewing machine manufacturers and dealers will 'tell' you what types of threads to use and what not to use for your machine. They give all sorts of reasons to use one brand over another. Unfortunately, they haven't a clue as to what they are talking about!

I would highly suggest taking the time to view tutorial on threads presented by http://www.superiorthreads.com/education/ there is a wealth of information listed here.
Or look at http://www.superiorthreads.com/education/511/ in pdf format that you can print off and save for future reference.

It has been a learning process for me to find the correct thread for the project I was working on. Through struggles and tears I finally found this web site that had unbiased information on threads....eureka! My Bernina machine is so happy now and its user is a much better quilter now too :yahoo:

OH wow....thanks! I am the one who asked on another thread about the Bernina thread thing.....I was wondering if I could use threads other than "Europen twist" which is what he Bernina people tell you that you must use. I"ve been using Gutermann, since it is easiest to get (at Joanns on sale with coupons) but it is linty. I'll look at this info! THANKS THANKS THANKS! :flower:
