| Whats your favourite block used in antique quilts?do you have a favourite?
there are so many blocks in quilts, I love corn & beans, I love 54-40 or fight, I love so many but over and over again the quilts that catch my eye are more often than not pinwheels in some shape or form. I dont know if its possible to have a favourite but the humble pinwheel seems to attract my attention all the time _________________ "My will is mine.....I shall not make it soft for you" Aeschylus, Agamemnon

| Applique...or 'fancy' dresden plates. That's what I think I'm going to do with my 30's..mentioned in the other topic. | |

| I seem to gravitate to stars and log cabin blocks. But, lately am doing curved piecing. Currently have the urge to get "Winners Bouquet" book w/templates by Atknson Designs. Those who know me know I am a scrappy person - since a child when we used quilts made from Grandpa's old suits. I have so much fabric, have been trying to downsize and am currently making log cabin blocks with Marti Mitchell's log cabin ruler & 2 1/2" strips. When I get this pile done I am planning to use 1 1/2" strips with those 4" appliqued hearts as centers mixed with reglular LC blocks. We'll see how that works for me. LOL. Cindy | |

| I like the simpler antique patterns like Shoofly and Churn dash. Just remind me of simpler times I guess. _________________ TxMaryQuilts

| I was feeling like the odd-ball until I read TxMary's post. Those are my favorite old time patterns. I do love the old appliques too and 9 patch. | |
