| Well, here's how I see it: A small quilt is a table runner or a table mat or a candle mat or a place mat. A small quilt is a wallhanging or a doorhanging. A small quilt is a doll quilt or a journal quilt or a miniature quilt (in my house) a doily. A small quilt uses 120" or less of binding. That might sound a bit random, but as a square that's about 30" - that's large enough to be a substantial table topper, but still smaller than a baby quilt or a crib quilt. A small quilt isn't a pincushion or a postcard ( postcards have their own WING!). It's not a tote bag or a doll. You'll find lots of those things in the " Quick Quilting Projects and Gift Ideas" topic. So now that those pesky details are out of the way, share your pattern finds, share your bright ideas and share your pictures! _________________ Perfection is the enemy of progress

| Here are a few of my small quilts made in the past, first one graces the rocking chair - was made from left over scraps from a bigger quilt that was a gift. this one I made having a go at turning my photo into a quilt its 29" x 30" this one is a McKenna Ryan/Pine Needles pattern, its 25" x 21" called Autumn Rest _________________ "My will is mine.....I shall not make it soft for you" Aeschylus, Agamemnon

| I love Geralds quilts with pillows and all and they are perfect for him. I hope you signed and dated them..they will be keepers and Laura will want to turn them over and see when Mommy made them for her Gerald...
I have a wall of mini's I will take a pic and post on my blog..I have a high variety of them.. why.. like anything quilting I am addicted!! I go to auctions and quilt shows and I make a bid if I am lucky I will get it.. I have one from Bev Anderson and that was before we even met on line!! I won it one of the quilt show's she had donated it. When I posted a pic on line she asked me to read the back sure enough it was hers... now a small world for a mini world of quilting. I am actually hosting a mini madness group on Connecting Threads with their new forum and hopefully will have together a tutorial for everyone to make a mini there... it will only be a simple nine patch but it will help get rid of some of the fabric..
Just have to get my butt in gear and do it.. LOL
great mini's ladies love the pics.. and great ideas |

| Gimp I don't have a landscape one of hers I have a "Chevron with golds and blacks" it is very cute!! Golo I just asked them if I can open up a mini group on their Quilt with Us site and they let me.. Go to http://www.connectingthreads.com on their site you will see tabs and that is where you will see "Quilt with Us" that is their forum.. you can become a member and then you can check out all the groups. I know I know we got burned before but these people have been around a long time and they are smart what better way to get quilters to buy then to have them chatting and talking.. they have great sales really great sales.. Thanks Gimp for letting me post the site... :yahoo: |
