I Call 'Em Doilies Empty
PostSubject: I Call 'Em Doilies   I Call 'Em Doilies EmptyFri Feb 20, 2009 9:58 pm

Not cleaned up, just what I snapped pics of walking through the main part of the house:

Protecting a dresser in the entryway:

I Call 'Em Doilies IMG_1511

Dust cover for an unused printer:

I Call 'Em Doilies IMG_1512

Under a lamp in the living room:

I Call 'Em Doilies IMG_1513

Under (MY) lamp next to my comfy chair (yes, there is a small quilt under all that stuff! What's embarrassing is that this IS the cleaned off version!):

I Call 'Em Doilies IMG_1514

Catching coffee-pouring drips:

I Call 'Em Doilies IMG_1515

Protecting cupboard shelf from coffee stains (hmmm... that's above my eye level - looks like that needs some attention!!):

I Call 'Em Doilies IMG_1516

Keeping glass dishes from chipping or rattling:

Do YOU doily? Is there a different word in different places in the country/world? Tell all!

Fb, you have given me a new way of looking at doilies... all mine are crocheted, but for a change I think I would like to make some quilted ones... thanks for opening my eyes to something new...

dust muffles, we could call them dust muffles, you know, soft and warm and protect stuff! I love yours and your coffee cup one. Never thought of putting htem between glassware, could use them I think, give you a chance to try blocks them make into little items for household use - good thinking

I've always thought of doiles as crocheted too......love the variety and I agree what a great way to try out new blocks.....place them between my china plates. Thanks for the idea!

I call the small one doilies and the bigger ones table pads.......I have to say if you are quilting to put padding between dishes you need a 12 step program :) .......coffee filters work great there!!
