| Well, I didn't want to have to keep track of a new topic every time a new holiday rolled around, so here's where everyone can post stuff about holiday themed small quilts. I'll start with The St. Patrick's Day Project over at Kim's Big Quilting Adventure. The project is written for two sizes, small and not so small ;) and she takes you through the project step by step (pretty much) with pictures and everything! Check it out!! Post pictures!! :yahoo: _________________ Perfection is the enemy of progress

OMGosh, noooooo! It's still WEEKS to Easter - don't make us all look bad by not waiting until the last minute!!! BUT, if you were so inclined, you might be interested in a quick and easy Carrot tablerunner. That would probably be a great lure incentive for the Easter Bunny to come visit!! :love-130: _________________ Perfection is the enemy of progress

| LOL yeah I design and sell them, it kind of took hold of me, wasnt something I would have gone into, fell into it LOL. I just have never got much of a kick out of embroidering - I just dont tell the quilt shops that I dont like having to make samples all the time either LOL _________________ "My will is mine.....I shall not make it soft for you" Aeschylus, Agamemnon

| I just sent and received Spring-themed mini quilts from the Sprin Mini quilt Swap hosted over at Quilter's Gallery. (Clicking any of these pics will get you to BIG pictures. I'm in a phase of taking huge pics) I sent this (and I forgot to measure it, but each flower is 6"): Here's the money shot: Check out the (narrower than) 1/8" pink flange. I wonder if my swap partner even noticed it? (There's also that "perfect" 1/4" inner border that just blended in ) Here's what I received: I love this. It is SO bright and happy! This is from Wanda in OK. She wrote a note that she tried a number of new techniques, "with varying levels of success" (direct quote :) ). There are sparkly things in the center of the quilt, the flower was foundation pieced, there is machine and hand-quilting. One thing, though - and I know I can tell YOU because you know my motivation is not snarky - (whispering) I removed the binding and re-attached it. It was pretty rounded and a bit pleated when I got it. Wanda sent an extra bit of the binding fabric, so I had some extra to use and STILL have enough for a hanging sleeve. The binding right now is just pressed well; I need to do the handwork to attach it on the back. _________________ Perfection is the enemy of progress

| Wow Tracie..I just love that tiny flange! It's absolutely perfect..as is the piecing. Your mini really turned out nice! I really like the one you got too. It was so nice of the swapper to send extra binding. Maybe binding just isn't "her thing" and she thought you might want to fiddle with it? They sure are purty! |

| Tracy, the pink flange is awesome. I love that touch.
I like the one you got, too. It would make a good wall hanging. I wonder, too, as AOL said that she maybe is now great at binding. Otherwise, why would she send extra binding.
A friend of mine took an applique class making a poppy wall hanging that was phenomenal. If I can find the website with the pattern, I'll share. | |
