| I've already e-mailed another place less than 2 hrs. away. Hopefully these folks will get back with me sometime this week. OR maybe she will. I guess something could of happened.... but she does have an assistant I talked to that knows me pretty well..... we'll see who gets to me first.
It's not like I have the full almount to buy it now anyway, but I would like a firm price now. I have 1/2 of it and can get the rest out of our savings. The assistant quoted me a price of $850.00, but said to talk to the owner because she would most likely come down. I'm assuming due to getting close to end of year and wanting to sell the 2012 machines to get ready for the 2013 models. But she won't call me or answer the crazy phone!
I'll let you know what or what doesn't happen....... |

Must of been what it was Anita, because when I got home from working the food pantry today there was a message on the phone for me. I called her back and she told me she only works Monday thru Wednesdays. The assistant works Thursday thru Saturdays. Anyway, she told me $800.00 and that she would be happy to lay it away and that I could pay on it for as long as I needed too. I thought that was pretty darn nice of her. She said the price goes up on this machine at the first of the year! I know the assistant told me a couple of weeks ago that the retail was $1100.00?.... or something very close to that. I do know it was over $1000.00. The other folks I e-mailed have not gotten back with me. I told Sheryl we would be out of town this weekend, but I'd be over early next week to set things up with her or to just buy it. Wanta talk to hubby first. To me this is a major buy and we always discuss major buys. |

- I like you didn't think I would use it much, and to tell the truth, I haven't used it much...still learning how to. I would love to have a LA machine, but at last, this was about 1/4 of the price...so I will be working hard at learning how to use my machine. Or sending them out for LAquilting...I could take a class at our LQS for 100.00 and learn how to use theirs then rent it once in a while for a 4 hour at a time slot. I am not sure which way to go on that one yet.
Any way, back to embroidery machines...I was told to use an Iron off stabilizer on top of towels when embroidering them, which it keeps the pokies stuff form coming out of the towels. In addition, that it last a lot longer. Therefore, I guess, I will try those once I learn how to make my computer to machine work right. It is kind of fun, and then there are embroideries of old style quilt blocks that I would be fun to do. I have a low level embroidery machine and use it a lot, I even made continuous lace for a veil last year! I have embroidered on many a towel and piled fabric like velvet. I did not use a sticky stabilizer but I did use a watersoluable . There are two types one that is clear and another that look like a regular stabilizer. The clear is fine for towels I use the other stabilizer that looks like interfacing for things like lace and Free standing lace where the excess stitching may throw the design out of kilter. Does that make sense ? Anyway if you have any ?'s send me a note I would be pleased to see if I can help you out!

| I saw your FSL project Lowjane,...very nice. The stabilizer that looks clear is more of a topper for piled fabrics like towels and velvet. I've not used it much. I use the stuff that looks woven amost exculusivly..but then I had a sample of the nice tear away stuff and fell in love with it. Its really pricy though. | |

I bought a lot on ebay at one time and still using it, although pricey I was able to get it online for a good price. I love that woven stuff to. Did you know that you can save your odd bits, put a bit of water and the leftovers and a drop of vinegar, shake and then put it in a jar. You can then use it as a paint on for those projects instead of using stabilizers and then washing it away. Keeps forever,

lowjane.....interesting info on the left over stabilizers...and to think how much I've pitched !!! By accident I found out how to make the stabilizer reusable when a friend had some on her sewing table and I wondered what it is, I had mine for 2 years until I used it all up. I have also basted some together and used it as well! Talk about cheap.. that is me
