| IMproved nine patch or wedding ring nine patch, YOu all know what I am talking about... I was wondering if anyone had a pattern for this... There are all kinds of pics on the internet, BUt I just cannot find a pattern... Nor can I find a pattern in my endless sea of quilting books! I justt want to try it in a bag orr tablerunner. YOu know I don't have time to make a whole quilt right now! Just wanting to play on something that I haven't tried before! Thanks! | |

| I have plexi glass templates for 6" & I think 9". Also Sharon Craig has this pattern in a book she & Harriet Hargrave wrote. John Flynn also has templates for sale. I did this as a full size quilt and baby quilt. Did pastel colors w/ white on white background - when I do it again I will use darker colors & definitely not a white background. But then I do tend to do more scrappy and either country colors or brights. Have fun - this is an interesting block. PM me if you need a tracing of templates. Cindy | |

| Looks like fun to make. I think the versions I've seen previously were all straight lines, not as interesting. | |

| Canterbury Rose TableRunner This one's a bit tricky - it's in the archives of Connecting Threads' website. Had to do some serious digging! If you decide you want this pattern and have probs downloading it, lemme know. _________________ Perfection is the enemy of progress

| Wow, Chris I have spent 1/2 hour on that website you gave!!! Sure glad to see Barbara Brackman is redoing " Encyclopedia of Applique" I would love to have that. Thanks for that site!! I love applique, especially realistic looking flowers etc. Norma I down loaded Foxit Reader and I have dialup and it went very fast for me. | |

| Paper jams are a bother aren't they. If you can reach the paper at all don't be scared to pull hard, its the only way to unjam mine. | |

| LeeJay did you get your jam fixed. There should be a trap door in the back to retrieve the paper. I didn't know that and broke my last printer. This one doesn't jam hardly at all. | |

| Yes, It is fixed now, but even though I have a lot of ink it printed so lightly that I can barely see it...I need to make templates so I can make one.I can see it enough that I should be able to do that! | |

| It wasnt as bad as an apple core or drunkards path, (i havent been succsessful with those yet) I started at the middle of the curve and that helped manage it... I like how it tuned out! At least it is flat! :yahoo: | |

| I need to start working outside my comfort zone a little more. I've really been pushing the applique training and need to refocus on piecing again. | |

| You know, just last night I was talking with my friend about "quick and easy" quilts. I realized that I am not doing anything that really stretches me - or even uses the skills that I already have. I just do simple stuff. It's not like I have to crank out half dozen quilts in a hurry - in fact, there's nothing that says I have to get a quilt or a top done in a month, even. I think I need to (want to?) stretch myself a bit and stop raking the path of least resistance. I've always wanted to do the improved/glorified nine patch - and while it's not Paula Nadelstern level of crazy (been there, done that, thankyouverymuch), it's also not just squares and rectangles and HSTs. I've already dubbed this "The Year of the Scrap". Maybe I can embark upon a "Curvy Quarter"... Improved 9-patch, Wedding Ring, Orange Peel, PeterPaulandMary... Hmmmm... _________________ Perfection is the enemy of progress
