What inspires you? For me its nature....architecture and art.

Here's a little slideshow of our trip to the Detroit Institute of Art that we took yesterday. I left the museum with quilts running through my head. I hope you enjoy it, many of the pics are of elements behind glass I apologize for the glare.

Isn't it funny how we get so that we see inspiration for quilts all around us? Sometimes it can be a color combo or geometric pattern...but I think we see things differently once we become quilters? Cheesy

I agree. There are a couple of trees we pass going to the next town that always make me want to put them in a quilt. So far, DH has not been willing to stop and let me shoot them. (It's really not a great place to stop.)

What could inspire more than nature... the true colors of a clear day or an odd sunset or sunrise... trees.. fields.. flowers... water... beauty is all around us..

Tiles - I ran my own business within the ceramic tiling industry for 9yrs, tiles, beautiful mosaics, ancient ones, new ones, geometrical, pictorial - there are so many inspiring ideas in tiles. Architechture too and nature, all kinds of things, sometimes an idea just pops into my head like seeing a photograph, other times I see something and just get an idea. Often its inspiration from my friends here :-)

Great topic idea CC and I loved your slide show, thank you for setting it up for us
