This gal is going out of business after 8 years. She said that she knew the cotton prices were going up but just couldn't bring herself to charge over 13.50 for a yd of fabric....so she is closing her business.

I wish.......................sad she is closing though. Makes me wonder about our stores here and let me say my wondering isnt of a nice ilk. Seeing as our dollar has been above the greenback, however marginally for a while now, then how come they are still charging us $28metre (39" width) for fabric here when its half that in the states? I know shipping is one expense but seriously, do they think we are stupid?

Wow Gimpy! $39.00 per yard? No way could I afford that. That is what you mean isn't it?

$26 - $28 a metre Memaw here, metric metre is 39". Those 5" charm packs start at $24 and the big 10" layer cake ones I saw recently for $49 - I dont buy fabric much and when I rarely venture into a quilt store I go straight to the sale bin, to be honest, I rarely even look at the other fabric anymore unless Im after a specific piece. Last time I needed something specific was some black for the base of the snowglobes for that swap mid last year LOL!
