Hi, Ladyslipper2 and also Savannahanna. nice to have you. I am also a retired RN and I don't even like to watch any of those TV medical shows. I turn those right off. I love retirement.

I love quiltiing and reading also, my favorite things to do. I also do some genealogy but lately I don't get much of that done, quilting takes up most of my time. I do love to watch the live cams that are focused on eagles, hawks and great blue heron nests. Someone on here got me started on that but I don't know who.

I don't dig in the dirt, not since a child and we made mud pies while playing Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, (I was Dale and ran the restaurant from the TV series). Does anyone else remember that or are you too young? Also, I just eat the veggies that DH grows when he digs in the dirt.

I live in Texas, near Houston but I loved Georgia when we visited there last year about this time. It was wonderful.
I have been married forever too, 45 years, and have 4 children ( 3 boys and 1 girl )and 3 grandchildren and one on the way(also 3 boys and 1 girl) if the US is correct. The oldest is 9 and now they are coming fast and furious after a long gap. There is a picture in my gallery, which I know you want to see.

Glad you have joined us and can't wait to get to know you better.

Hi. I know your thinking, where the heck has Missmommy (Janet) been... Or maybe you haven't. cry2 but in a nutshell, things have been hectic, another grandson, DD was married in July, DH was laid off, got another job, quit that and is now officially retired! So my time is certainly not mine. I frequent the hgtv board and the sister board, CTTQ. I didn't forget about you here just lost the addy, old putter died and took a lot of secrets with it. Lol.
Anyway, I'm back and I hope welcome.

Hi Golo, I have two needle turn projects going , a sashimi almost done, several waiting bor borders, some needing to be quilted..... Whew and seemingly no time for myself. I will be taking a workshop with Pat Yamin in two weeks. Other than that we are just working on the house, inside and out. what about you? How is your DH?

How old is your grandson now, how old is grandchild #2 and who's baby is it? Congrats on your gal marrying, hope the wedding was wonderful and you like SIL. Sorry to hear about DHs ups and downs and that he is now retired, hows that working for you? Do you still work in a quilt store? Its been so long, arent I full of questions!! You were missed Janet, so very glad you found us again hug08

Anxious to see your quilts your working on.

Hi and thanks for the welcome back.
DD married in July and SIL is great. Only a nice guy could live with her. Lol. She doesn't plan to have any children. Her DH told her so before they married and she knew the score going in. Sort of sad for her, but she seems ok with it.
Both grandson's are my songs. Anthony is now 4 and Mason was just 1. They are absolutely darling and look just like my DS! Do I sound proud?
DS will no doubt make partner in the law firm and will be the youngest to have ever done so. DIL is an attorney in a different firm...also doing well.
Helen - DIL hasn't changed much, if you recall.
Retirement with DH is quite a challenge.
Oh, and you asked about the it kitties. Sadly, Sparky passed away 6 mos ago at the age of 18. I loved him so much, I still cry daily. DH thinks there is something really wrong with me. Leeta is now 13 . She is doing very well but she simply can not take Sparky's place.

Janet Im so sorry to hear you lost Sparky, I know how much you loved him and can understand your daily sorrow. Cant beleive Leeta is 13, where did that time to, we sure have some catching up to do! Im not surprised your DIL has never changed, she seemed pretty set in her ways, as long as Michael is happy and at least she kept working and didnt drop that. Any chance of grandson pics? I bet they are gorgeous. I hope DH has a shed or something to go to so you have some peace at times. Gimpy is getting to be a real old man, 14 same as Jasmine but he is ageing a lot, has hyperthyroidism, heart murmur and other issues. So glad you found us again, it will be lovely to see you face around the forum again hug08

Thanks for the nice comments. It was a beautiful gown. There were three layers to it. The top layer was appliqués flowers and beads ona fine sheer fabric . Gotta love the fascinator..importated ostrich feathers and swartofski crystals. It was very vampish...sorta like a torch singer of the early days. I was fooling around wearing it while she was trying on gowns, and DD loved it! Lol. It was striking addition as she is 5'9+ barefoot and was wearing I think 4 or 5 " heels and weighs a whopping 118 lbs. there were gasps when she came down the aisle!

There were 70...so compared to DS's it was small. I believe there were over 150 at his. Most of the guests were the grooms friends and family. We had it at the Thayer Hotel on the grounds of West Point. For the most part, it went well.
