This was in the middle of another post, but I thought both ideas needed to be out in the open.

I have had to take music books and have them spiral bound so I can open them and use them on a music stand. Is there enough margin to do that or to have them put into a looseleaf book? I have a print shop that doesn't charge much to spiral a soft cover book for me. It is usually more economical than paying for the spiral book to start with. I hit on this by accident when I wanted a collection that didn't come in a spiral book. I would just take a razor and cut the page out, but then you have to figure out how to keep it in place for storage.

I've heard of having books spiral bound so they stay open nicely when you are using them for a craft project, but I also like the idea of having a music stand to hold one. You can often get a used stand at a Goodwill, etc. Thanks, Merry Bee.

My school has the mechanism to do this. I have had several of my books done into spiral. I think Staples does it too, but the school's price is better...free.

Marynel, if you use a music stand, don't forget that musicians use a cloths pin or a chip clip to keep their music in place. There are gizmos you can buy for that, too. :)

Kinko/Fed Ex also will spiral bind inexpensively.
