| Any thoughts on what could be going on? She IM'ed me a few minutes ago to say the site was down. I was able to get in just fine. I've had her clear her cookies, cache, and history in firefox and it still isn't working.
Any other ideas on what she might try? She's getting frustrated and I can't stand over her shoulder and figure out what it is.

| I wonder if it has anything to do with the electric being out in parts of Ohio? I dunno how computer connections are routed? |

| I have no idea! She was on here around 2:30. I'll pass that along to her though as a possible idea.
Gimpy, she says she's gonna email you if she continues to have issues.

| Is she having trouble accessing any other websites or just this one? And I am assuming that after she dumped the cookies, she rebooted her machine...probably should try a cold reboot instead of just a restart. | |

| Yes, she did a reboot.
She says she can go everywehre else she wants to go, so it sounds like it's isolated to QLR.
And she also had the computer shut down while they had dinner and still nothing.

| All of the settings for her are fine so I have to assume that it is something to do with the routing from her computer to this site...and it might take a little time to sort out. Did she try turning off the antivirus software to see if that made a difference? (Has it updated recently?...) I would email Gimpy though. | |

| The white screen happened to me yesterday. I was on here, clicked on a new topic and got a white screen. Couldn't move. Closed window, opened new one, clicked fav's and was back. No other problems. _________________ TxMaryQuilts Â

| I still wonder if it could possibly be that a lot of places are without power right now? Anita is in OH and there's an area of OH that may not have power until Saturday. I know there are problems in other states too, with the electric and the phone lines. I dunno how things are routed but thought maybe that could enter in? |

| Very strange. I've emailed her all the replies to this thread. We'll see if she can get back in tomorrow.
Finisher, you may be right about it being part of how things are routed. Anita and I are both in the Cleveland area, but different parts of town. I just saw on the news that there are still around 50,000 in NE Ohio without power from Ike. I know Anita has power. I think the Cincinnati area isn't supposed to be back online till SAturday.

| My DS is in Columbus and they were told they may not have power until Saturday. Franklin is still out too. I hope that's all it is and that should be fixed shortly. |

| She sez she's going to the liberry in a few minutes and will try from there. She's mad though, but I think that if she can't get in there then it HAS to be regional.
She and I do have different ISPs, so that could be par tof the problem too.

| I have looked at all the setting that I can think of that might be causing a problem. Then I looked at them again, just to be sure. I can't see anything that should keep you, Anita, off this board. And since you can reach the site from the library, I have to assume that it is something with your computer or with a local server there. You can get to other websites though without a problem, is this correct? My next step would be to check my antivirus software...especially if it has Parental controls and make sure that this site didn't get in there as a possible threat.
Bratt had you dump the cookies on your computer and the temporary files. I would do that again, then do a cold reboot (shut the computer off for 10 minutes) then start it up again. Right now those are the only things I can think of.
If those don't work...we'll go from there. AND it could be something not under your control between you and the server site. I'll email you my email addy so you have a way to get in touch with me, if you need to.

| Bratt is Anita able to sign on at home now? I have been emailing with her and barb and I have been emailing too. We have checked the forum, profiles, security etc, nothing is amiss. The forum support says that its caused by no clearing cookies etc usually. Im wondering if some updates have caused a glitch perhaps. I know all the automatic updates can mess with your system sometimes, I too wondered if it was a security patch perhaps thats causing it. I wonder if its possible for you to sign on using your mums acct, see if you have any troubles - is that possible? I know Anita is getting cranky about it but we are doing everything we can think of, she isnt blocked or anything. If someone is blocked or banned they get an email notification anyway.

| Gimpy, she should be getting up anytimne now. Last I heard yesterday evening it still wasn't working for her yet. It may be a while though till I can test anything because I have to leave for work soon and am planning on doing some errands after. I'll let you know later today if she still can't get in, but I don't think me signing in as her is going to fix it. She can't even get teh site to load, from what I understand. She's just getting some page about the site being down. | |

| Have you tried a System Restore and restored for a couple week back. Sometimes works when I am having a problem or have added programs or updates. |
